Girlie Thanks!

Happy Wednesday to you all! firstly, sorry I was not here to bring you my post about the new Silhouette Machine Blade yesterday...by the time I finished work at 10pm I was just too pooped to sit and write the post, but be assured I will have that ready for you tomorrow...

So as I type this post to you all, my Darryl is currently filling sand bags with quite a few other guys ready to take to where parts of our town may flood, we are currently on flood alert, with lots of rain over the next few days...this rain band that is currently moving through is affecting so many areas..my thoughts are with everyone...thankfully we live on higher ground and at this stage will be out of the danger zone...please keep us all in your thoughts.

Okay, onto today's card for the new challenge for Simon Says...this week it is an Anything Goes, so that means anything you create you can enter into the challenge...this week the DT gals are featuring My Minds Eye products...and I have to say that I was squealing with delight as this is one of my favourite companies.

I decided to use products from the Blush collection, unfortunately, the stamp set which is called Princess, this is now not available in the store but there are many other stamp sets that My Minds Eye have that you could use to create something similar.

I took a couple of pieces of pattern paper from the 6 x 6 paper pad, trimmed the text one down slightly smaller then a card front, I then took the banner from the Princess stamp set, inked it with Peony Ink and stamped in the upper right hand corner, once the ink was dry I sewed around the edge of the paper and adhered to a trimmed white card, I also stamped in the bottom right hand corner the flourish image that was in the stamp set with London Fog. The other piece of pattern paper I ran through my Cuttlebug, cutting a circle die, I then stamped in the centre of the circle with the dress form stamp that was in the same stamp set with black ink. I added Vintage Photo to the edge of the circle and adhered to the front of the card with foam dimensionals. I finished the card by adding a sentiment stamped onto white card stock that was formed into a banner strip with a V cut in the end and added rhinestones to complete.

I cannot wait to see all your creations this week, I love to see so many different looking entries...I do hope that you will have a little time to play, to check out the details of the challenge and the DT gals work just click the blinkie below...

As always the fabulous and sweetest Heidi will give one lucky winner $50 to shop in store...

Okay, I am off to grab a light dinner and wait for my man to arrive home...this may be a long night ahead...think I may need to go craft to keep my mind off things...

Have a wonderful night..

Water Coloured Roses!

Hello and happy Monday to you all! Before I jump into tonight's post, I wanted to thank everyone for their kind comments about the decisions that I have made in regards family life etc...however in saying that there needs to be some clarification, if you read the post, you will have found out that I am not leaving the crafting industry, I am just making a few adjustments to better suit my life, so to the people that think that I am leaving this wonderful industry I am not...but I do thank everyone for the kind and supportive comments that have been left.

Alrighty, how about a card.....

I had a little fun with a new Hero Arts/Basic Grey stamp that has just been released into the Simon Says Store...Pattern Hearts and Flowers....

I took the roses from this beautiful stamp set and inked with Versamark Ink, stamping it onto water colour paper, embossing it with white embossing powder and heat setting. Colouring the embossed roses with distress inks, Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold, Rusty Hinge, Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint, by adding each of the colours to an acrylic block, spritzing water off to the side of the ink, blending and adding to each of the sections of the roses, making sure to wipe off between each colour. Once I was happy with the tones of the roses and leaves, I trimmed the image out and set aside to dry more. I trimmed a Kraft card to size, adding pattern papers from the Studio Calico, Memoir paper pad, with the blue strip, I punched a border, using the Scalloped Diamond punch. Next, taking more pattern paper from the same collection the sentiment from the same stamp set, I inked it also with Versamark Ink, stamped onto the pattern paper and heat embossed with white embossing powder, trimming out, adding this to the card front. Finishing the card by adding the roses with foam dimensionals and a scattering of pearls.

Well I hope that this card gives you some ideas as to how to use this new stamp set, I look forward to seeing many cards created using this sweet stamp set...

Okay, I am off to the craft room to have a play with my Silhouette Machine, as I received a new blade today and well lets just say that it cuts like butter..I will have a post here tomorrow to share all that news and information with you all..

Have a wonderful night!

Farewell for Now!

Happy Sunday to you all! So I suppose you are wondering why the title of my blog post says what it says???  Well never fear, I am not leaving the blogging world or my crafting, but I am making a few changes in my life and some of these have been very hard.  One of those changes is that today will be my last post for Jay Gee's Nook.

I have enjoyed the last 2 years working for Judith immensely, I cannot thank her enough for asking me to join her team and work alongside some of the most wonderful girls, it has been a dream and I will say that this has been a hard decision to stand down, I won't say that I will not return, but for now for family issues this is the right decision to be made, as much as it is hard and quite sad.

But never fear, you will still see me around bloggie world as I will hopefully continue to inspire you all as you all do for me...

Okay so before I start to turn on the water works, how about the card for today...

I took the Large Flower Background stamp from Hero Arts, inked it with Versamark ink and stamped onto a trimmed piece of Kraft card stock, embossed it with white embossing powder and heat set.  Once cool enough to touch, I took my Copics and coloured the sections in, I corner rounded the corners and adhered to a trimmed white card that also had the corners rounded.  I stamped a sentiment onto a trimmed white card stock, and cut a V in one end, adhered this to the front of the card along with some pearls.

I felt that the background really did not need anything else, as it speaks for itself and is a true stand out of a design.

I am off now to check out what the rest of the team have created for you...

I want to thank Judith once again for the most amazing 2 years and I know that our friendship will continue.

I hope that you will all continue to jump on over to the blog each Sunday to check out what the amazing team have come up with...

Have a wonderful day!

Hugs
