Text Poinsettia!

Hello there friends!!

Start to the week again, the weeks are flying by and it is a crazy feeling knowing we are truly only weeks away from Christmas and I have not even begun to think about it...

Speaking of Christmas, I have a Christmas card to share with you all..I was so inspired by a picture that I saw on Pinterest...

I just adored how Alisa created this poinsettia on the text paper, she created a super fun wreath with it, but for me I knew I just adored the water coloured look on old text paper....

So I got to thinking and looking at my stamps I found the Christmas Star from Penny Black and knew it would make the perfect candidate for this project...I stamped it onto old text paper and embossed with white embossing powder...I coloured the poinsettia with distress markers that became a really pretty light colour when dried..so decided to create another one and have a play with distress stains..of course two beautiful coloured flowers.

I wanted to add these two beauties together onto a really soft background, at first I thought of colours that I had used on both flowers, when that turned out it was just too bold and the flower was totally hidden by the background, so wiped that off the background stamp and applied brushed pewter distress stain...when I took the card stock off the stamp, I realised that some of the previous ink had transferred onto this card stock, thinking boo I would have to do a redo, then looked at it closer to realise the dashes of red actually were really fitting...don't you love when you make a mistake and it actually works for the project.

Here is a closer look at the poinsettia...

The shine on these flowers by adding dashes of the brushed pewter and tarnished brass distress stain are so super pretty..just wished the camera had of been able to pick that up..

So nice to be able to get a few products out and just play....

I hope you all find some inspiration in this creation to get you kick started into creating those Christmas cards, I sure needed that kick start..

Just before I sign off for the day, I thought I would share a sneak peek at some furniture that will be eventually sitting in my craft room..yes, Darryl has been busy at building once again and this time will big a large draw at the base of my large bench that will house all my clear and cling stamps..seeing as the other stamp storage is chocker block full...

I cannot wait for this to be all finished and I get to share the end result...

Okay, that wraps up today's post...

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!!

Hugs
