Today is Wednesday and that means another creation for Simon Says, this week the DT gals are featuring Tim Holtz and creating tags...my tag has quite a story behind it..

I ended up using some Mr Huey's Mist, Heirloom Blue, sprayed it in a box over my tag to find that the nozzle must have been blocked...to my dismay and now heart ache, I found that it had sprayed all over my cream carpet, once I started to wipe it and try and clean up the mess, it began to spread....eeeeekkkkk! by this stage I could have just sat on the floor in a pool of tears, I have literally tried everything and nothing has moved it, it has dulled but you can still see it...Darryl, however, has not..my Mum told me, just don't invite him in there for the time being until we get it clean up..LOL good old Mum. My last resort, I brought some Carpet cleaner product that goes into machines to try and see if I can get it out, wish me luck. So alas, my tag has a history, the learning experience from this, find a larger box or spray outside....
Okay, so after sharing my debacle with you, lets jump into how I created my tag..
I took white card stock and using the Tag and Bookplates die, I ran it through my Cuttlebug, cutting out a tag. I added some October Afternoon, Thrift Shop pattern paper over the top and trimmed around the tag, finding that the paper was a little strong in colour for what I was after, I took a paint Pearl Dabber and applied a layer, still finding it was not quite right, I kept playing around with colour by adding Mr Huey's Mist, Heirloom Blue, this was when it went haywire and panic began to set in, I found that not only did this mist end up on my carpet it had left big areas of ink on my tag, so I found a baby wipe and began to wipe it down, this still showed the pattern paper through, so I added more mists, Calico White and Clay, this time being very careful. I gave it a little more shine by adding Calico Shine and then heat set everything with the heat tool.
I moved onto the dress form, by adding a old piece of text paper to a piece of white card stock, running it through the Cuttlebug, cutting the Dress Form die, applying distress inks, Vintage Photo and Broken China over the top, wanting to give it a little extra appeal, I added Rock Candy Crackle Paint over the entire dress form. Whilst this was drying I moved onto the flower, by taking the Tattered Florals die and running it through the Cuttlebug, cutting out the layers of the flower, returning the card stock to the Cuttlebug, this time embossing the flowers with the Textile embossing folder to give it more appeal also. I added distress inks, Pumice Stone, Vintage Photo and Broken China, to make it match the tag more I added droplets of the Heirloom Blue to parts of each of the flowers and adhered together with a Basic Grey brad.
Completing the tag, by adding Sketchbook tissue tape, a stamping from the Pappilon stamp set, adhered the dress form and flower with foam dimensionals and finally added seam binding to the top of the tag.
Here is a closer look of the crackle paint on the tag...although the photo does not show it too well, but in real life it does look fab!

Joy, my heart goes out to you... of all the colours to go on cream carpet. I pray the carpet cleaner works. However, I must say, the final result is stunning. Just love the tag. It has inspired me to get on and finish the Tag for Tim's 12 days of Christmas. Still about half of them to do... maybe before next Dec.
tag is beautiful, but how awful for the carpet! hope the machine works
really lovely!! That vintage paper dress form is just gorgeous--the brad is just my style too!
A really great tag, Joy--as always your work is amazing!

The tag is spectacular. Love how you melded all your techniques into one really beautiful cohesive project. Wish I had your talent. Hope your carpet cleans up nicely. Good Luck!
Oh Joy - your gorgeous studio now has a blue polka dot rug! I've used Oxyclean on my white carpet. It works great! That being said, this tag is GORGEOUS and dare I say, was worth all the work! I'm pinning it! Hugs, Marcy XO
The tag is gorgeous. I love the embossed flower with drops of blue on it.
It is really beautiful! Love all of the details on your background!
Joy, I feel so bad about your carpet. I found this a while ago on Pinterest... Haven't tried it out myself, though.
Carpet stain remover
All I had to go on were the two lines written in that comment above....but honestly...that's all you need to know. I filled an empty spray bottle with 1 part ammonia & 1 part HOT water, sprayed it LIBERALLY on the stain, laid the clean white towel on top of it and started ironing away!
Hope, it helps.
Love your tag,
Susanne
Gorgeous dress form tag, Joy! I'm really loving the texture on the flower and the text paper used for the dress form!

Simon Says Stamp!
Gorgeous tag Joy! Fingers crossed that the carpet cleaning solution does the trick.
That blue is gorgeous, ouch on the carpet. Try looking on the website that makes the spray, they might have some suggestions on how to get it out. Sometimes just dabbing the spot with a cold water cloth. The secret is to dab, not rub.
Love the tag. I threw out so many patterns in the past, one that I had bought and thought I would make the clothes out of, gosh, wish I had some of those now--oh well.
Keep up the great work and get a much larger box.
