Snowman Happiness!

Hello everyone, I hope that you have enjoyed your day....I have had an eventful day today...Darryl has been prepping for his big fishing trip of the year....each December he and his friend head off for a 4 day trip down the river, so needless to say it is quite a lot to organise, so it is Roly and I batching for the next 4 days...but will let you in on a little secret, I love the fact that I will have sole remote control..LOL...I did shed a tear when they left too, I am such a sook, I just love to know that he is around even though he may be in his shed pottering and me in the house, it is a nice feeling to know he is there...LOL.

Okay, another of the sappy stuff how about another creation for Simon Says ...today, is the start of a new challenge and I am sharing a card made with some yummy Lawn Fawn and Hero arts, with some techniques thrown in for good measure.

So how about the technique first, taking some white card stock and an acrylic block, along with distress ink, Shabby Shutters, Broken China and Tumbled Glass, inking the acrylic block, spritzing the block with water and applying to the card stock, heat setting the ink and trimming around, I just love that technique. I created a snowflake background inking up the snowflakes from the Making Frosty Friends with Pool ink and stamping over the inked card stock. Adhering this to a trimmed piece of white card stock for matting and setting aside to work on the rest of the card.

More white card stock, stamping the snowman and hat and colouring in with Copics, trimming out and adhering to the inked card stock, adding the arms to complete the snowman. I then trimmed a piece of pool layering paper, stamping the front of the paper with the Houndstooth stamp that was inked with Pool ink and sewing around the edge. Punching a slightly darker colour of pool layering paper with the Binding Edge punch, adhering to the houndstooth background also, adding Stone twine to complete this section of the card. Adding the snowman to the background stamped paper with foam dimensionals along with a sentiment stamped under and adhering to a trimmed white card. To complete the card I added some rhinestones and Diamond Stickles below the snowman to create a snow bank.

Make sure to join in the fun this week, as it is an open challenge, to see the details, click on the blinkie below...be sure to enter as many times as you can for a chance to win $50 shopping spree in store.

Retro Christmas!

Hello everyone! Monday and the week begins again...back to work tomorrow, with fingers crossed for the back issue, hopefully it will hold up..

Prior to injuring my back, I had been working quite hard on DT projects for Purple Onion Designs, with still a lot more to go..but slowly mowing them down and having fun with all the new stamps that are in store...tonight I thought that I would share a card with you all that I created for Christmas, this time using some golden oldies stamps.

Joy Taylor - Retro Christmas

Pretty much a one layered card using lots of stamping and nice Jenni Bowlin ink...the card kinda speaks for itself, but if you need to know anything then ask away...be sure to check the links at the base of this post to see what I used to create this card.

Alrighty, it is time for me to go lay my head down for the night and get a good nights sleep..I hope that you all enjoy your night or day whatever it may be in your neck of the woods.

Hugs

I created a matching gift tag and bag...using the yummy Postmarks and Wreath of All Seasons stamp set, stamping one of the stamps from the Postmarks stamp set with Jenni Bowlin ink, Cough Syrup down either side of a white gift bag and also on one side of a tag that I pre cut out of white card stock. Stamping the wreath with Brown Sugar and Cough Syrup on the tag and adding a sentiment below the wreath. Completing the project by tying the tag to the gift bag with red twine.

Super fun and quick to create, something a little special to add to that present you will be giving...

Here is a close up of the tag...
