Vintage French!

Hi everyone! finished work for the day and that means the countdown is officially on for my holidays....but the next few days are going to be quite testing so just as well I am having holidays next week...LOL.

So the other night I had a chance to play around with a Hero Arts stamp set Carte Postale that has sat in my crafting supplies for a number of months, using lots of my favourite products this is what was created...

Stamping the background stamp from the Pappillon stamp set with Frost White ink onto a trimmed Kraft card stock, sewing around the edge, adding more Frost White ink to the edges and adhering a trimmed doily to one of the sides. Next, stamping one of the stamps from the Carte Postale stamp set with Memento London Fog ink, inking around the edges to soften and give a more aged look with Pumice Stone. I then ran some pink card stock through the Cuttlebug cutting a dress form die cut, adhering this and the other stamped image onto the Kraft card stock. Completing the card by adding a pink rose, a scattering of pearls, the sentiment, and finally adhering this to a trimmed white card.

Well it is now time for me to go and get some dinner ready and then sit back and relax for the night...

Enjoy your night..

Big Happy Birthday Wishes Brother!

Hello and happy Thursday to you all, so today we celebrate my Brother's 40th Birthday and even though he lives a lot of Kilometres away from me I just wanted to send my biggest birthday wishes to him.

I created a card for him and thought that I would share it here with you all...

I created this card using the Surfing theme as he lives near the beach and loves to surf when he has a spare moment. Taking an image from the Silhouette store and resizing on my computer, sending it to cut on white card stock, adding Black Soot distress ink over the top of the image and flicking water over it so that the ink and water would react. I then ran a trimmed piece of white card stock through my Cuttlebug, embossing the card stock with the Papertrey Ink, Sunshine Impression Plate. Next, trimming some pattern paper and punching with the border punch Boundary Waters, adhering this to the white card stock with foam dimensionals, along with the die cut of the surfer. I then added a stamped sentiment, adhered the card stock to a trimmed piece of Ocean Tides card stock and then onto a trimmed white card. Completing the card by adding a scattering of rhinestones.

I do hope that my big brother loves his card along with his present that I have also sent...I wish him the happiest of birthday's yet and may there be many more to come...

I hope that you enjoy the card and see how quick and easy it is to create a card by cutting a die cut, colouring to your own choice of colour and adhering to a card.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of the day!

I created a card using Basic Grey Brads and the beautiful Curio paper, I have had this paper sitting in my craft room for what seems like forever so it was time to get it out and create something with it. I wanted to use distress inks to create more depth into the patterned paper, unfortunately, in this photo you can barely see it, but if you squint you maybe able to just view it..ha, ha. So I stamped the Flourish Background stamp onto the pattern paper with Versamark Ink, then embossed it with clear embossing powder, once cool, I applied the Tattered Rose ink directly over the top, hence the embossing resisting the ink. I trimmed this down and adhered to some cream card stock and then adhered to a trimmed Kraft card.

To make the flower you can see in a video HERE as to how I create them (there are lots of videos out there on the net showing how to create them) I created mine using lots of layers of text paper, adhering the flower together using a Basic Grey brad and applying Brushed Corduroy to the outer edges of the petals. I punched a circle out of some green paper from the same Curio paper and created leaves, dusting them with Peeled Paint and Brushed Corduroy to give them a more aged look. I adhered this to the pattern paper on the card and completed the card by stamping a sentiment onto white card stock that was trimmed to size, adding a brad either side of the sentiment.

Remember there is always a great incentive to participate in the challenge as Heidi and the crew from Simon Says offers a....

Okay, I am now off to tackle the craft room and do some creating, seeing as I have managed to get the tasks that I wanted done today completed...

Have a wonderful rest of the day!
