Damask Love!

Hi friends! Wish me luck, day off today and attempting to enter the craft room..new goodies arrived and am itching to play, let's hope that there is some sort of spark there that allows me to create...

So yesterday, I shared a Purple Onion Designs card, which I have to say a huge thanks to everyone for their lovely comments, this has meant so much and makes creating so worthwhile...so today I thought as I was flicking through my folders on my computer, how about another POD card and this time using the same Damask stamp....I just love this stamp!!

Joy Taylor - Purple Flower

Taking trimmed white card stock and the Vintage Damask stamp, I blended over the entire sheet of card stock using distress ink, Dusty Concord, applying a fairly heavy layer, I then took the stamp and applied the ink and stamped over the covered sheet of card stock, creating a look of tone on tone, I sewed around the edge of the card stock to give it a finished look and adhered to a trimmed white card. Next, trimming Kraft card stock and sewing around the edge, stamping the larger flower from the stamp set Pot a Flower, colouring the stems and leaves of the flower with my Copics. Using the same flower, this time just inking the flower head, stamping directly onto white card stock 2 times and taking distress ink Dusty Concord to colour the centre of the flower and Milled Lavender for the petals, this time applying the colour by using the ink directly onto the card stock...this gives such a beautiful smooth finish and quick colouring. I trimmed the petals and the centre of the flower out and adhered together using foam dimensionals, then adhered to the stamped flower on the Kraft card stock, also using foam dimensionals. Finally, adhering this to the card front along with trimming a strip of white card stock and stamping a birthday sentiment to complete the card.

Here is a close up of the card

Okay time to wrap things up here and get moving on today's chores so that I can attempt to create...

I hope you all have a fabulous day!

Sending you all lots of hugs!

Damask meets Butterflies!

Hello everyone! Sorry kinda dropped out of the blogging sector for a couple of days...I also think the mojo has parted me for a holiday...hoping it returns this weekend, as I am off work this weekend and truly have so many cards to create...fingers crossed.

Going through my files on my computer I realised there is quite a few cards I can share with you all until the mojo resurfaces...so with that being said, how about a Purple Onion Designs card.

100_6007

Trimming Aqua Mist card stock and inking the Vintage Damask stamp with Aqua Mist ink, stamping over the entire trimmed sheet of card stock, adhering this to a trimmed white card. Taking some text paper and running several sheets through the Cuttlebug with the Simply Scallops die from My Favourite Things, adhering each layer to the Damask card stock, adding white twine at the top of the text paper. Next, taking more white card stock and the Mat Stack 3 die, running through the Cuttlebug. Stamping the butterflies from the Vintage Butterfly set onto white card stock, colouring in with my Copics and trimming out, adhering to the Mat Stack and stamping a sentiment from the Handwritten Holiday stamp set, adhering the Mat Stack to the card using foam dimensionals to complete the card.

Alrighty, hoping you all have a fabulous day!

Postage!

Hi everyone! once again the week starts, time is just flying by this year, I cannot believe that we are half way through the year, before we know it, it will be Christmas...EEEEEKKK!

Okay I am over the panic mode now, how about another share with you today..this time using the Papertrey Ink, Postmarks stamp set..

100_6107

I took white card stock, trimming it to form a card and trimming a slightly smaller piece to be mounted onto the front of the card. Next, running the Postage die through the Cuttlebug and cutting white card stock with the die..stamping the coordinating stamp over the die cuts with Jenni Bowlin ink, Stick Candy, Chewing Gum and Brown Sugar. Using one of the stamps from the stamp set, I inked it once with Stick Candy and stamped along one side of the white card stock, then again but this time with Chewing Gum. I adhered each of the Postage stamps to the card stock also with foam dimensionals, I stamped a sentiment from the Year of Flower: Daffodils stamp set. Finally, adhering the card stock to the front of the card with more foam dimensionals.

So that about wraps up today's post, have you all got exciting plans for today??? I am hoping that my mojo is back in play as I have 3 more 2 year old cards to create...wish me luck.

Hope you all have a fantastic start to your week and I will be back again tomorrow with another share.

Whale Birthday!

Hello everyone and happy Sunday to you all! Very cold morning here this morning, but I can see the sun shining so looks as though it could end up being quite a nice day.

So today is the start of a new challenge over at Jay Gee's Nook and today's theme is all about the Nautical and Ocean theme...I have been playing around with some images over at Pinterest and ended up creating a inspiration photo for you all to create those wonderful cards, I am really thrilled that Judith decided to use my inspiration photo and it looks as though I may have the permanent gig now...LOL

Here is the inspiration photo...

Here is the card that I created...

100_6105

I started with a trimmed white card to form the card, then trimming slightly smaller pieces of blue and more white card stock to be layered. I ran the piece of white card stock through my Cuttlebug, embossing it with the Sunshine Impression Plate. Next, I trimmed a piece of dark blue card stock and adhered this to the white, running a piece of score tape across the bottom and adhering glitter. I then stamped a sentiment from the Whale Wishes Mini Stamp Set and embossed it with white embossing powder, adding white twine above the sentiment and adhered all card stocks to the front of the card. Taking the stamp set Friendly Flags, I stamped one of the flags from this set onto white card stock using Broken China distress ink and trimmed each of the flags out, then adhered to the card with foam dimensionals. To complete the card I took a different coloured blue card stock and ran the coordinating whale die through my Cuttlebug and adhered to the card with more foam dimenensionals, adding a little eye to finish.

I hope you will all have some time to enter this fab Challenge, to check out all the details and what you could win, plus what the other DT gals have created, you can visit HERE.

Okay I am off to grab some breakfast...Oh and before I do that I must mention that I have added links to most of the products I have used to create the card at the bottom of the post, just hover over each picture and click.

Have a great day!

Hello!

Hi everyone! how is everyone's Friday going...I am sure that you are pleased that it is Friday, but for me my week begins again and I am back at work yet again tomorrow...heading for an early night in bed...the last 48hrs have been quite a roller coaster and I am looking forward to a little bit of a slower pace of life to catch back up again.

Tonight I want to share a card that I created using Garden Friends stamp set...have you seen these cute stamps and the new store, if not you can go HERE. You can also view my card over at the blog too.

100_5984

I used a yellow note card from Hero Arts and stamped the Thank You Definition stamp that was inked with Soft Yellow ink..trimming some Punch card stock along with white card stock, with the white card stock I stamped the Ledger background stamp that was inked with Brown Sugar ink from Jenni Bowlin and using a small circle punch, I punched the corners of both card stocks, adhering them together and adding some twine to the card stocks. I stamped the worm in the apple onto white card stock and coloured in with my Copics, trimming around the stamped image and adhered using foam dimensionals to the stamped ledger card stock. To complete the card I stamped a word bubble from the Write Your Message stamp set from Hero Arts onto more white card stock and inside the bubble stamped a Hello sentiment from the Garden Friends stamp set, trimming the speech bubble out and adhering to the card with foam dimensionals.

Be sure to check the blog out throughout the days of the weeks as the DT gals will be showing what you can create with these amazing stamp sets...

Okay, time for me to head off and get some dinner ready so that I can have my early night..have a wonderful night everyone!

Dress Up Marci!

Hi Everyone! Sunday once again and last day of my holidays...it has been great having the last 2 weeks off to basically doing nothing, which is what I literally did..LOL.

So today brings us to another DT card for Jay Gee's Nook..this time I decided to use the stamp Dress Up Marci...I just cannot get enough of these La La Land stamps, they are just so adorable.

100_6100

I stamped Marci onto white card stock, coloured her in with my Copics and trimmed her out, using more white card stock, I ran a piece through my Cuttlebug cutting a die cut of Labels 8 Spellbinders die out, stamping over the top using the Envelope Pattern background stamp from Hero Arts, that was inked with Soft Brown ink....I then used one of the techniques that my sweet friend Jill Foster is currently using on some of her gorgeous projects and that is using the same label die, tracing around the outer edge on black card stock and trimming out, this just gives a smaller edge once matted together.  So once I adhered both label dies together, I stamped a sentiment from the Papertrey Ink, Fillable Frames 1 stamp set, I then adhered Dress Up Marci using foam dimensionals and adhered to the front of a white trimmed card that was stamped with Canvas Stripe from Hero Arts, inked with Berry Sorbet ink.

Here is a closer look of the coloured image.

100_6101

I have decided to enter this card into the La La Land customer gallery as well, you can see all these wonderful creations HERE.

Now I am going to let you in on a little secret and that is I know Judith has just received shipment of new products and that they will be in store soon, so make sure to check the shop out over the next couple of days.

It is now time to jump with me over to see what Judith and Ange have created....also whilst you are there, there is still time to enter the current challenge...there is yummy Twine from the Twinery up for grabs.

Glitter 2!

Hi Everyone..well it is a cold, windy weekend start here today..so I am snuggled up on my chair with the fire going and watching re runs of the Love Boat...LOL...love these old shows, the ones I used to watch when I was a kid.

What better way to start my day then to write my blog post, watching the Love Boat and sharing my latest creation with all of my wonderful readers..

This is another card that I created for my friend..the 2nd card of 7 for the 2 year olds...

100_6074

I used all Papertrey Ink on this card and lots of pink with glitter to create a really girlie card...trimming Sweet Blush card stock to form a card, stamping the polka dots on the front from the Polka Dot Basics 2 stamp set also inked with Sweet Blush ink. I added a strip of glitter down at the base of the card and stamped a sentiment from the Fillable Frames 1 stamp set.  I ran Mat Stack 3 die and white card stock through my Cuttlebug and stamped one of the corresponding stamps over the die cut with more Sweet Blush ink, adding glitter strip to the die cut and adhered to the front of the card using foam dimensionals.  Taking more Sweet Blush card stock I ran the number 2 die from By the Numbers through my Cuttlebug and adhered glitter over the top.  Finally, adhering this to the centre of the Mat Stack 3 die cut to complete the card.

So I have some more Bits and Pieces to share with you here today..
  • WOWSERS!!! my jaw hit the ground when I first viewed this...

Froggie

I resized him on the computer and printed out on white card stock, coloured him in with my Copics and trimmed out...on another piece of trimmed white card stock, I added distress ink Tumbled Glass and Broken China, I cut out a lily pad from felt using the Papertrey Ink,  Frog Hop die, I adhered this to the card stock and added the frog onto the lily pad.  I stamped a sentiment, corner rounded the top corners of the card stock and adhered to a green card that was stamped with the Daisy Outline stamp.

2 year Old Card and Winners!

Happy Wednesday to you all, normally I would say YAY! that it was Wednesday, but this week, no, it means that my holidays are nearing the end and having to head back to work...boo!  But I do plan on making the most of the next few days..

Now, before I announce the winners of the Twine giveaway, I want to share a quick card that I created for my friend to give to a 2 year old...in fact she has asked me to create 7, 2 year old card in total, so you might be seeing some of these over the next couple of weeks..

100_6067

I trimmed Spring Rain, orange and white card stock, with the Spring Rain card stock, I trimmed a card, ran a couple of pieces through my Cuttlebug, with 1 cutting a number 2 with the By the Numbers die and with the other piece creating a rosette by using the Tim Holtz die, I punched 2 orange circles out and adhered both of these to the rosette to hold it together.  With the white card stock, I trimmed a piece slightly smaller then the card front and embossed it using the Sunshine Impression Plate, with the other piece of white card stock, I cut out a die using the Mat Stack 3 die...I stamped a matching stamp over the die cut with some orange ink,  I added a sentiment to the die cut and set aside.  I added stamping to the number 2 with some polka dots, from the Polka Dot Basics 2 stamp set.  I then assembled all the card together, adding dimension where needed using foam dimensionals.

I think I need to use this rosette a lot more, it makes such a statement on a card...

Okay, I won't keep you in suspense any longer, the 2 winners of the Twine are:

From Barb's blog post.....

Congratulations Anita Rex.....

From My blog post....

Congratulations Froggietalks (Karen G)....

Anita and Karen if you could both contact me with your shipping details....

I just want to thank everyone for leaving both Barb and I wonderful, sweet comments, we hope that we inspired you over our 3 day event...you have all been so kind...thank you so much...

Before I leave...I thought that I would share a couple of photo's of our dear Roly boy...these days he hates having his photo taken, when he sees me pick up that camera, the cheeky boy just turns his head, so the only way for me to get kinda a good photo is to hold his favourite treat in one hand and take a photo with the other...LOL..

I hope you all have a wonderful night!

Change of Plans and layout!

Hello Everyone, I wanted to pop in here today, to let you all know that there has been a change in plans about the Summer Card Class giveaway, here on my blog...without going into details and boring you all with my DUH! moment, lets just say that I read something the wrong way...LOL.

So getting straight to it, I am now giving away 3 spots in the Summer Card Class...thanks to Jennifer McGuire I have been able to put this in place...so with that being said, tonight was the official cut off for entering to win a spot in my giveaway, but I am now keeping the giveaway open for another couple of days...I will leave the comments open til Friday 17th June, 8am (Australian Time) and I will announce that day as to who the lucky winners will be that have won a spot in the class...remember I now I have 3 spots to giveaway...good luck everyone. (Make sure to click on the Summer Card Class Giveaway Link to enter or the link in my sidebar)

So now after all of that information, how about viewing a layout that I created of my sweet Nephew, Zane...I knew that I had photos sitting on my computer that I wanted to document onto a page, the fun times we all spent together at my Mum's at Christmas last year, so finally spent a couple of days on my holidays working on them. I created one of my gorgeous little Niece, Lily the other day and now creating this one of Zane, has helped me develop more of my Scrapbooking skills.

100_6077

I used lots of Echo Park Patterned papers, twine, buttons, sewing, Tim Holtz Paper Clips, stickers and another one of Kerri Bradfords awesome die cuts...to view these go HERE.

Here is a close up of Kerri's die cut...

100_6080

I punched lots of circles out of patterned paper and added a little bit of stamping with some Lawn Fawn stamps (Say Cheese Two), some buttons and punched stars, the strip with numbers on it I trimmed from a piece of Echo Park paper.

100_6088

I was really happy with this layout and I think I am finally realising what my style is..that helps heaps in creating a layout for me..LOL.

So I know that this is quite a long post, but I couldn't leave here tonight without sharing some awesome bits and pieces that I have seen around the net lately.
  • THIS is jaw dropping, gorgeous... I think I even let out a little squeal when I first viewed it..WOW!

2nd Posting for the day - Make it Monday!

Hello everyone! this is the second posting for the day, scroll down to view the other creations, I wanted to share this card that I created for the Make it Monday over at Papertrey Ink...this week was all about using the Paper Tissue technique..Betsy Veldman shared a video tutorial on how to produce gorgeous creations using this technique you can view the video HERE.

      100_6089

I took the Signature Series: Dress Form die, I ran it through my Cuttlebug with some white card stock..once I had the die cut, I stamped over the top of the die cut with a Damask stamp from the Damask Design stamp set that was inked with black ink. I then took purple tissue paper and glued it over the top of the die cut, trimming around the die cut and setting aside to dry. I ran a piece of trimmed white card stock through the Cuttlebug embossing it with the Picnic Plaid Impression Plate, I adhered a strip on purple card stock down one side of the embossed card stock, along with some lace and twine. Taking more white card stock, I cut a Mat Stack 1 die and stamped a corresponding Mat Stack image over the top of the die cut, I added a sentiment from the Signature Series: Dress Form stamp set. Adhering the die cut to the embossed card stock using foam dimensionals, along with the dress form die cut. Finally, I added some rhinestones to match and adhered the whole creation to a trimmed purple card.

Here is a close up of the dress form.

      Two Creations to Share!

Hi friends....today is the last day of the long weekend here...and I have to say it has been nice spending time with Darryl...yesterday we got out into the garden and got some much needed jobs done...today I need to do some much needed jobs inside and a lot of deadlines in the craft room.

So today I thought that I would share 2 creations with you...a bit of a special treat...

      100_6050

The first of the creations is a layout that I created about my sweet little niece...I also was so inspired by my good friend Nichol Magouirk her layouts are truly awe inspiring and I knew some of the design concepts she uses I wanted to showcase on my own layout...I also brought some of Kerri Bradfords FAB digital die cuts and was itching to use them....although I feel I have a long way to go to reach the AMAZING standard of Nichol's layouts..LOL. I won't bore you with the details on how I created this layout, but if you wish to know anything you can ask away and there is a tab at the top of my blog where you can ask do so.

      100_5986

The second creation that I wish to share with you is another Purple Onion Designs...I wanted to use my Memento Markers and colour directly onto the stamp and them stamp onto patterned paper...I was pretty happy with the out come and adding a stitching feature to the paper and a thank you stamp I think it really completed the card.

There is still time to enter into the giveaways I have here on my blog, one for a spot in the Summer Card Class...HERE and the other for a goodies bundle of Twine from the Twinery...HERE.

I hope you all have a fantastic day and thank you everyone for constantly visiting my blog and leaving such heartfelt comments....

      Hugs to you all!

      Pearlised Distress Ink Flower!

Happy Sunday to you all, I do hope that your long weekend or if you are not on a long weekend that you are having a fabulous time.  It has been cold here the last couple of days and well Joy went into let's do nothing mode, but today unfortunately is D Day, things or at least some things around here have to be done.

But before I head off to get those things done, it is time for me to share my card creation for Jay Gee's Nook, I decided to have a little fun with some embossing and distress inks.

      100_6076

I took the Sweet Threads stamp set and some water colour paper from Hero Arts, inked up the largest flower from the set with Versamark ink and stamped directly onto the paper, adding a layer of white embossing powder and heat setting, I did this process 2 times. I then took distress inks, Spiced Marmalade and Barn Door and added the ink to my flower using a Dauber, to give the flowers a pearlised look I took my Mini Mister that I had with the Pearlised water (water with a few scoops of Perfect Pearl, Perfect Pearls) and spritzed both flowers heavily with the water, I heat set the flowers and then trimmed out both flowers, one with just the centre of the flower trimmed out, I adhered the centre of the flower to the larger one using foam dimensionals and set aside to work on the rest of the card. Trimming more white card stock and inking up the Life of the Party Words with Jenni Bowlin, Malted Milk ink, I stamped the entire card stock and corner rounded the top 2 corners, I added some scored lines to the base of the card stock as well as some twine above the score lines, I adhered this to a Sunshine note card. I stamped a sentiment from the Find Joy stamp set and finally adhered the flower using more foam dimensionals as well as a scattering of pearls to complete the card.

Here is a closer look of the pearlised flower.

      JGN
