Next, using more white card stock, stamping the Woodgrain stamp from Hero Arts, that was inked with Soft Sand ink, stamping onto the white card stock, stamping La Lettre from Hero Arts, that was inked with Latte ink directly over the top of the woodgrain stamped area. Adhering a trimmed piece of My Minds Eye, patterned paper to the bottom of the card stock. I then took Walnut Stain distress ink and distressed the sides of the card stock and patterned paper, adding twine to the top of the patterned paper, along with the daffodil. Next, stamping a sentiment from the Type stamp set from Hero Arts, corner rounding the top of the card stock and adhering to the front of a trimmed cream card. Finally, adding rhinestones to complete the card.

Okay, so that is a long post for you all to take in today, so I hope you enjoy reading and viewing everything here...I look forward to bringing you another creation tomorrow.

You're So Amazing!

Hey friends! So it rolls around again and another week is starting...time is just flying by isn't? I hope that you have all enjoyed your weekend and got plenty of time to get crafty or at least have some relaxation time.

I spent yesterday cleaning the house and squeezing in a little crafty time myself..to which is the card that I am sharing with you today.

I made this for a friend that is currently going through a tough time..I thought that the cheery colours would hopefully brighten her day.

100_5751

I took some My Minds Eye patterned paper, trimming to size and sewing around the edge, adhering to a white card. Next, taking the stamp set Sew Stylish, stamping the measuring tape onto more My Minds Eye patterned paper and one of the ladies from the same set onto other My Minds Eye patterned paper, trimming around the stamped measuring tape and the clothing of the lady. Stamping the lady once again, onto white card stock, adhering the clothing and colouring the skin parts in with Copics, trimming around the lady and adhering both the measuring tape and lady to the card. Finally, adding a stamp sentiment to the card from the same stamp set and buttons to complete the card.

Once again another set that has not seen much use and have had fun creating.. serving a double purpose, creating for fun and for also hopefully cheering my friends day.

Jay Gee's Nook - Challenge 6

Happy Sunday to you all, how is your weekend going so far? Yesterday we went and had lunch with my Mum and did a couple of odd jobs around the house for her..so nice to return to the farm once again..I miss the peace and quiet that being out on the farm brings..being in town you realise the difference. I suppose I will always be a country girl at heart not a townie..

Being Sunday, it is another card creation for Jay Gee's Nook for you all to feast your eyes on..this Sunday is the start of the new challenge and yet another fab inspiration photo...

Here is the card that I created for the challenge...

100_5738

I took Kraft card stock, trimming it to size, setting aside to work on the rest of the card. Taking white card stock and the Hero Arts, Bicycle stamp, stamping onto the white card stock, colouring the flowers and the basket on the bike in with my Copics, piercing holes in the top and bottom of the card stock. Next, using some text paper and the Simply Scallops Die from My Favourite Things, running several pieces through my Cuttlebug, adding a light dusting of Pumice Stone distress ink to the scallops. Adhering the white card stock and the scallops to the card, adding twine to the top of the scallops and trimming a small piece of Kraft card stock, stamping a sentiment from the Lawn Fawn, Sophies Sentiments, punching a hole and adding some more twine through the hole. Finally, adhering the sentiment to the white card stock to complete the card.

The little bicycle was yet another stamp that has been sitting in my collection that has starred down at me as I create at my desk, hoping that it would become inky one day...well that day is here and I have to say that I was pretty happy with how the whole card turned out.

I hope that this card gives you some inspiration to enter the challenge..now come with me over to the blog to see what Judith and Ange have been up to..also you will want to come with me, as there is a special guest designing for this current challenge...

I look forward to bringing you another creation here tomorrow..Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Sewing!

Hey friends! I have like possibly so many of us, stamps in my craft room that have not seen ink...so many new things come of the market that sometime we forget to use some of the old ones we have..and that is what I have done today..bring some of these stamps that I have longed to play with for so long.

100_5733

I took some Kraft card stock, Stitch and Trim stamp and Latte ink, inking the stamp up and stamping twice and stamping over the card stock, trimming card stock to size and adding a sewing border around the card stock. Next, taking the stamp set Sew Artsy and patterned paper from My Minds Eye, stamping the dress form onto the patterned paper and then onto the Kraft card stock, adhering the patterned paper to the dress form on the card stock. I then stamped a sentiment above the dress form from the Made With Love stamp set, adding some matching buttons to the opposite side of the dress form, placing twine through the holes on the two smaller buttons and then ribbon through the larger one. Lastly, adhering the card stock to more My Minds Eye patterned paper and then onto a trimmed cream card using foam dimensionals.

I love these sets of stamps and am so pleased that I pulled them out of my stash and got them inky and had fun, I urge you to all do the same, give those stamps that have been sitting there starring at you some love.

Now, before I leave you today, I wanted to thank all the girls that left me wonderful asparagus recipes..I cannot wait to try some of these out..

Hope you all have a wonderful Friday, may it be filled with lots of smiles.

Hey girls! Well I hope that you are enjoying this week so far of honouring some of my favourite stampers and card makers..its been a hoot so far for me.

Okay so it is day 3 of the honouring and today I wish to honour this particular person who I admire and as always am inspired, her simple yet elegant style seems to never falter, her creations are always something I try to aspire to. Although, I don't always leave comments on her beautiful blog, I am always in the background admiring from a distance. The wonderful and talented lady that I speak of is non other then Nichole Heady.

The elegance and simplicity of this card drew me straight in and I knew there and then I was going to create a card based on this gorgeous card.

6a00d8341c64e753ef01310f84f126970c-450wi

Here is my take on Nichole's beautiful creation.

100_5700

Starting with some Aqua Mist card stock and the stamp set Tin Types Background Basics. I trimmed the card stock and inked the stamp with Aqua Mist ink, stamping the entire piece of card stock. Next, taking the Beautiful Blooms die and some Vellum, die cutting two times, adhering the flowers one on top of other and adding a button to the centre of the flower with some white twine. Taking the stamped card stock once again and adding two thin strips of scor tape, I adhered these to the bottom of the card stock, adding glitter. I adhered the flower to the stamped card stock, adding a trimmed white card stock tag stamped with a sentiment from the Through the Trees stamp set. Finally, adding some pearls to complete the card.

Nichole creates with such exquisiteness that I am always giddy with excitement when I am at her blog viewing what she has been up to, don't forget to pop on over and have a look around her gorgeous blog.

Okay, so I am back to hit the craft room to create for tomorrows post, I hope you enjoy today's.

Day 2 of Honouring!

Well hello friends! Thanks so much for all the sweet comments that you left here on my blog about the week of honouring I am having, it has meant a lot, I hope that there is lots of inspiration for you all.

Today brings us to Day 2 of the honouring week, and today I wish to honour the talented, inspiring, best scrapbooker, card maker and Copic artist, she ROCKS! Any guesses?? Okay to not put you in anymore suspense, it is the lovely, Nichol Magouirk.

6a00d8341c6f8a53ef0133f2c20693970b-800wi

So I could not go pass sharing this fabulous, fun filled card that Nichol created, I love all the colours, the different layers and stamping layers, and oh who could go past this girls wonderful colouring technique.

Here is the card that I created to honour my friend Nichol..I love Pure Innocence stamps from My Favourite Things, they are just the sweetest to either colour with Copics or for that matter paper piece.

100_5699

So to make this feel like a fun filled card like Nichols, I took the Ladybug stamp and stamped her onto some white card stock, colouring in with Copics, trimming around the ladybug and setting aside. Next, taking more white card stock and the Clouds background stamp from Hero Arts, that was inked with Soft Pool ink, I stamped over the top of the white card stock. I then took some My Minds Eye patterned paper, sketching a half circle and trimming out, distressing the top of the half circle and adding Peeled Paint distress ink over the patterned paper to give more depth, adhering this to the cloud background stamped card stock. I took the ladybug and adhered to the mound patterned paper using foam dimensionals. Taking one of the sentiment stamps and stamping onto the cloud background, adhering the whole card stock to more patterned paper from My Minds Eye with more foam dimensionals. Finally, I trimmed a white card and adhered the patterned paper to the card front to complete.

I love the way Nichol used lots of colour on her card and so to honour her as the wonderful artist she is I took the feel of colour and incorporated this onto my own.

So I hope you have enjoyed viewing both of these cards today and don't forget to pop over to Nichol's blog to see all the wonderful creations she always shares with us all.

Hope to see you all back here tomorrow with the next talented gal to honour!

The Fun Begins!

Happy Monday to you all! So this week on the old blog I will be sharing a little event, I have decided to have a week or should I say 6 days of honouring some of my favourite stampers and card makers out there in blog land...now of course this is only a small sample of wonderful and talented ladies out there, I just wished I could share them all, because in fact you all inspire me in many ways.

So to start my week of honouring, today I will be honouring the lovely, sweet, talented, inspiring and caring Jennifer McGuire..as we all know she inspires us all on a daily basis..I love her style and the way her mind works with different techniques..mind blowing actually.

To honour my friend Jennifer, I have created a card based on this beautiful one that she made a number of months ago.

6a00e550ccd8ce88340133eca23361970b-800wi

I love the simplicity of it and the wonderful colour combo, a true masterpiece and a card that would cheer anyone.

Here is the card that I have created.

100_5692

I wanted to use some of the techniques that Jennifer uses on some of her creations, that being the use of distress inks...I took some white card stock, stamping one of the flowers from the new Hero Arts/Basic Grey line, Hello Luscious Bold Flowers stamp set with some Versamark ink, embossing with some white embossing powder. I applied distress ink, Victorian Velvet heavily over the top and flicked water onto the inked card stock, heat setting with heat gun, applying Walnut Stain distress ink to the outer edges of the card stock. Next, taking the Flowing Flowers and Leaves background stamp, inking it with some Soft Sand ink and stamping onto the front of an Eggshell note card. Adhering the distressed card stock to the card front using foam dimensionals, adding a trimmed tag with a stamped sentiment from the Everyday Messages stamp set. Finally, adding some pearls either side of the sentiment to complete the card.

I find that anything Jennifer creates is always such masterpieces, I felt for this card I wanted to find a card that she had created a little while back and share that beauty with you once again.

Now I hope you have enjoyed the first day of honouring, make sure that you check out Jen's blog (but seriously I know that I don't need to tell you to do that, because if you are like me, you check in there everyday to see what she has created..LOL).

I will be back here tomorrow with my next person to honour!

Oh and make sure you follow all week, because at the end of the week there will be some fun for you all to join in and a prize at the end.

I hope you have enjoyed today, look forward to seeing you all again tomorrow.

Basic Grey Birthday!

Hey my friends! so how is your weekend progressing? hope you have lots of time to do those important things that you have needed to get done.

Today I am here again once again sharing a card created for Jay Gee's Nook. I had a lot of fun using the new Hero Arts stamps from the Basic Grey line, you can purchase these through the store HERE.

I took white card stock and trimmed it to form a card, next, taking some Basic Grey patterned paper and the Life of the Party Words, inking the stamp with Soft Pool ink and stamping directly to the patterned paper, trimming and sewing around the edge. I then took some Kraft card stock and the stamp, Life of the Party Dots, inking it with some Frost White ink and stamping onto the card stock, trimming it down to the size that I was after and dusting the edges with more Frost White ink, then sewing also around this card stock. Taking more patterned paper from Basic Grey and the the ice cream from the Life of the Party Birthday, I stamped onto the patterned paper, also stamping over the top of the ice cream, Life of the Party Dots with Soft Lilac, just to add more interest and trimmed around the image, adhering this to the Kraft card stock. I adhered a button to the Kraft card stock, then attached the card stock to the stamped background paper. I added a sentiment from the Life of the Party Birthday set to the bottom of the background stamped paper and lastly, adhered this to the front of the card.

I loved using these new stamps and I hope that this card gives you some inspiration to run out and buy these fabulous and fun stamps.
