Card Chain Challenge!

Hi everyone! so how was everyone's weekend? My big plans of getting my house in order went out the window..LOL, got a little done, but not to the full extent of what I wanted to do..however on the crafting side of things, I achieved heaps, lots of deadlines finished and creations for my blog too.

I have a card to share with you today that I have been waiting for the recipient to receive and she has, so I am delighted to be able to share this with you today.

I decided to sign up to last months Card Chain Challenge, the current March one is underway, so if you wish to participate and check out what it is all about you can do so HERE. The basic idea is that you sign up to create a card and to send onto the person above you in the list, the one below you, you will receive. I however at this stage have not received mine, hoping it is not lost.

So my recipient was Anette Hjerpaasen, I am so pleased that it made it to the other side of the world and that Anette likes it.

Here is the card that I created for CCC.

I used lots of Hero Arts goodies along with yummy PTI card stock.

Enjoy viewing the card and don't forget to check out Deborah's blog for all the details of the March CCC.

Have a great day!

March Challenge - Jay Gee's Nook!

Hi Girls! Have to say that the start to my weekend has been great, managed to catch up on a little house work and loads of washing..also got to sneak into the craft room and create 5 cards yesterday, hoping for more today.

One of the cards that I created was for the March Challenge that starts today overs at Jay Gee's Nook, would love to see you all join in the fun for this month, I love seeing what everyone creates from the inspiration board.

This months inspiration board is another beautiful one..I really love the colours in this beautiful photo.

Here is the card that I created.

100_5659

Taking some Daffodil Layering paper and the Classic Fabric Background stamp that was inked with Soft yellow, I stamped onto the layering paper and trimmed around the design. Next, taking my sewing machine and adding a stitching line around the stamped background. Staying with the same background stamp, I took some Aqua Mist card stock and stamped over the card stock using Frost White ink (sorry the photo does not show this very well) I trimmed the card stock down to form a strip, adhering to the layering paper. Taking the teapot die that coordinates with the the PTI, Tea for Two stamp set, and more Aqua Mist card stock, a cut a teapot out of the card stock and using the corresponding stamp I stamped over the teapot with Aqua Mist ink, adhering the teapot to a circle of white card stock. I added some Hero Arts white lace to the top of the Aqua Mist strip and then adhered the circle using foam dimensionals. Lastly, stamping a sentiment from the Made With Love stamp set.

I hope that this card gives you lots of inspiration to create something for this months challenge.

Okay so I am heading straight over to see what Judith and Ange have been up to, and make sure to visit the shop whilst you are there too, I know that Judith has just added some yummy new Hero Arts products and Pure Innocence. I have already ordered some and they are on their way to me, I cannot wait to ink them up.

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday! I will be back tomorrow to share another creation with you.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving such wonderful comments, truly appreciated.

Mr Slow Poke!

Hey friends! Finally it is the weekend and time to get my house in order and hopefully plenty of crafting under my belt.

So with that being said...there is lots to do, so I will jump straight into today's post.

Jane designed another cutie of digi image...his name is Mr Slow Poke...and he is adorable, you can find the image at Claudia & Co along with some of the other digital images that Jane has created.

100_5656

I took the image resized him to the appropriate size for my card, coloured him in with my Copics and trimmed around the image. I then took some white card stock and the Hero Arts, Cloud background stamp, inked up with Soft Pool ink, stamping directly to the card stock. Next, taking some Grass Layering Paper, trimming a small strip and using the Martha Stewart Fringing Scissors I cut along the paper to form grass, trimming the tops of the paper to make it more realistic, I applied some Peeled Paint distress ink over the top to tone it down and adhered to the cloud background card stock. I then took Mr Slow Poke and adhered him to the card stock using foam dimensionals. For the sentiment I typed a sentiment onto my computer and printed out, stamping around the sentiment with a speech bubble from Write Your Message stamp set, colouring the outer edge of the speech bubble and trimming out card using more foam dimensionals, lastly, adhering the card stock to an Eggshell note card.

I loved making this fun card and I hope that you have enjoyed viewing it.

Well I do hope you all enjoy the start of your weekend, I will return tomorrow with another creation for you all to view.

Thanks for stopping by!

Friends Layout!

Hey everyone! So today I had the day off work and well instead of the big list that I had planned to do, ended up on the back burner once again as I had a project in my head that I just had to try and create. That being my second layout ever!!

100_5645

I took Kraft card stock for the base of the layout, then trimming white card stock, patterned papers from Echo Park, blue and cream card stock, taking the blue card stock and punching a border. I then took more white card stock and stamped the Classic Fabric Design background stamp using Pumice Stone, Weathered Wood, Faded Jeans and Walnut Stain distress ink, punching out several circles from each of the colours. I printed out several sentiments that I created on my computer, trimming each down and applying Vintage Photo distress ink to the edges of each sentiment. I took each of the elements and photos then adhered to the Kraft card stock, lastly, adding some extra embellishing of American Craft Thickers and buttons to complete the layout.

Sorry about the photography, have to work on that one..LOL.

I hope you enjoy viewing the layout and that it gives you some ideas of incorporating stamping on your layouts to add that extra touch.

So after having literally the day in the craft room, I now know that my weekend ahead will be a busy one to say the least.

I hope you all have a fun filled Friday, I am pleased to say that it is Friday, it has been a very long week indeed.

Bicycle of Hearts!

Hey Girls! Well I must say that I am glad that it is nearly the end of the week, what a week I have had, one in which I would like to forget, so I am hoping for a relaxing weekend ahead, how about you? Any major plans on the agenda?

Today I thought that I would share another card created using the Bicycles stamp set from Hero Arts.

100_5635

I took Kraft card stock, trimmed to size to form a card. Taking Punch paper and a heart punch, I punched several hearts out of the paper and applied some Barn Door distress ink and some red pearls to match. Next, taking one of the bicycles from the stamp set, I inked up with some black ink and stamped directly onto the card front, colouring in the handle bars with white gel pen, also adding white gel pen lines around the edge of the card to frame the image. I adhered the hearts to the card using foam dimensionals and drew strings down to the bicycle, making it look as though the hearts were balloons. Lastly, I added a sentiment to the base of the card from the All Occasion Messages stamp set to complete the card.

A fairly simple one layered card, I urge you all to try to create one layered looking cards, they really are fun!

Okay so I have lots and lots to do on my to do list today, so that I can have a free weekend, hopefully crafting and gardening is on the agenda for then.

Sending you all happy crafting hugs!

Paper Smooches!

Hey Friends! So a few weeks ago, Kim Hughes released her very first sets of stamps for her company called Paper Smooches, and well I was hooked straight away, so I took the plunge and ordered a couple of sets...have to say that I am truly thrilled, they arrived super fast and they are just the cutest images ever, so looking forward to the next release in March.

So to honour the stamps arriving, I created a card using some of the stamps from the Birthday Buddies stamp set.

100_5633

I started with a Eggshell note card, ran the front of the card through my Cuttlebug, embossing it using the Distressed Stripes folder. I took white and brown card stock, cutting circles out of each card stock, the white circle I stamped the dog from the Birthday Buddies stamp set and coloured him in using my Copics. I adhered the brown circle to the card front, with the white circle being placed to one side of the brown circle using foam dimensionals. I added some buttons under the white circle and lastly, trimmed more white card stock to form a tag, stamping the corresponding sentiment and adhering to the top of the brown circle using more foam dimensionals.

Super cute stamps and high quality, cannot wait to create more cards using these beautiful stamps.

Big congrats to Kim for starting her company, don't forget to check out the store for these gorgeous stamps and you can also check out the blog here for great inspiration from her talented design team.

Have a great day!

Friendship Bicycle!

Hey girls! Once again I return with another creation, this time sharing another card that I am entering into this months competition over at Hero Arts.

Like the sympathy card that I created the other day, I also found great inspiration once again from the net for this card.

100_5636

Trimming Kraft card stock to form a card and then inking up the Friendship Definition stamp with Antique Linen distress ink, I stamped over the card, setting this aside to work on the rest of the card. Next, trimming white card stock to fit the base of the card and choosing the Bicycle stamp set, I took one of the bicycles from this set, inked up with some black ink and stamped onto the card stock. Taking different sentiments from Anytime Messages, Thoughtful Messages and Thank you for Being My Friend stamp sets, I inked the different sentiments up using Punch and Antique Pewter ink, stamping in different directions around the bicycle for a unique effect. Once the ink had time to dry I applied a dusting of Antique Linen and Vintage Photo to the edges of the card stock, then adhered the white card stock to the card front and a lastly adding some twine to the top of the card stock to complete the card.

Just a little note before I depart, if you would like to know more about what I used or how I created any of my cards, please ask through the "Ask Me Questions" that is located at the top of my blog. I have had several questions coming through comments on my blog, and I cannot respond to these questions this way, I would love to be able to respond back to the questions, so if you can do that favour for me I would be very grateful. Thanks!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Primula Flower

Hey Friends! Today I thought that it was time for me to share another creation using one of Jane's Doodles designs...loving this new Primula Flower, so perfect in every way.

100_5637

I took the image resized it, pasted it twice onto my screen and printed it out, colouring one of the images in whole and the other just the flower part using my Copics. I trimmed around the image and applied some Antique Linen distress ink to the edges of the image, to soften the white card stock. I then adhered the image to a trimmed piece of pink card stock and then onto a Eggshell note card from Hero Arts. I took more white card stock and trimmed a piece that would fit the width of the card, stamping a sentiment from the Sending Smiles stamp set, adhering this to the front of the card and lastly, adding pink pearls to match either side of the sentiment.

Don't be afraid to use digital images, they are super fun to work with and once you have done it a couple of times it really is quite easy.

Okay so that is about it from me today, looking forward to bringing you another creation for you all to feast your eyes on tomorrow.

Thank you all for always leaving such sweet comments, you are just the best and it always brings a smile to my face when reading them, it is always a happy moment in my day, so thank you everyone.

Have a wonderful day!

Grey and White!

Hey girls! Yes it is that time again, Sunday and another card for Jay Gee's Nook.

I gained inspiration for this card from an ipad cover that I had seen here on the net, loved it so much that I could see the card that I wanted to create.

100_5634

I took grey card stock, trimmed it to size and stamping one of the stamps from the Delicate Leaf Clusters stamp set with Versamark Ink, making sure to cover the entire grey card stock, embossing with white embossing powder as I went. I corner rounded the corners of the card stock and set aside to work on the sentiment. Trimming some vellum, and taking the sentiment from the With Sympathy stamp set I stamped onto the vellum with Versamark Ink and embossing it with more white embossing powder. I adhered the vellum to the grey card stock to make it feel as though it was floating. I took white card stock, trimmed it to form a card and adhered the grey card stock to the front using foam dimensionals. Lastly, corner rounding the corners to match.

I know that last week I shared a sympathy card with you all, but I do know that these are not the easiest to create, so wanted to share another for you to gain inspiration, in which I hope I have done so.

I hope that you will all follow me now to view what Judith and Ange have been up to, don't forget to have a peek into the store whilst you are there, I know that there are some more goodies that have arrived.

Hope you all enjoy your Sunday, I will be back with another creation tomorrow for you to view.

Birthday Presents!

Hey girls! Another day another dollar, I am back at work again after 2 days off..boo, wishing I was sitting in the craft room, but I suppose we all have to do this..LOL.

Today I am sharing another Purple Onion Designs card that I created and yet again more colouring, which I am truly getting back into and loving.

100_5627

I took some white card stock and stamped the Stacked Gifts stamp, this was a new line that was brought out at Christmas time, but I felt that this stamp had so many possibilities for anytime of the year, so hence turning mine into birthday presents. I coloured the stamped image in with my Copics and blended some distress inks, Antique Linen and Spun Sugar around the outside of the white card stock to soften. I took more white card stock and trimmed a piece to form a tag, stamping a birthday sentiment and adhering to the stamped image card stock. Lastly, trimming some crimson card stock to form a card and adhering the stamped image to the front of the card using foam dimensionals.

A little tip that was once said to me when I first started stamping and it is true, when purchasing a stamp see all the possibilities that can be used with the one stamp, for me I try to see this in every stamp I buy, I like to look at a stamp and maybe turn it into something for every occasion.

Well enjoy your day!

Blooming Good Day!

Hey everyone! I finally had a chance to pull out one of my favourite stamp sets and have a colour. I love the Pure Innocence line, super sweet and great to colour.

100_5629

I chose the Blooming Good Day, stamped onto some white card stock and coloured in with my Copics, trimmed around the image and adhered to some blue card stock. Taking a snow card from Hero Arts and the Friend Definition background stamp that was inked with Soft Sand. I adhered the image to the card using foam dimensionals and lastly stamped a sentiment from the Sending Smiles sentiment set.

I so loved that I took some time to sit and colour, so therapeutic don't you think?

Now for some shares:

I think at present these are my favourite Pure Innocence stamps, THIS, THIS, THIS

WOW! THIS jumped off the computer screen and slapped me in the face from it's beauty.

Sketches 4 Cards App!

Hey Friends! I am sitting here on a Summers day looking at the clouds rolling by through my french doors, so nice to be able to take the time to sit and just relax a little.

So while sitting here I thought that it was time to write another blog post for you all to view.

A little while back Michele from Purple Onion Designs was given an invitation that she also extended to her team to be apart of a new Application that would be released at CHA this year, available for ipad, iphone and ipod touch, the application was 100 different card sketches that would be available for purchase. Hence we were all given a sketch for us to design a card that would be contained in the Application. For me this was exciting because it would probably be the closest I would ever get to CHA..LOL.

To check out all the details of the Application you can view it HERE.

This was the card that I created.

100_5474

Pretty straight forward so I won't bore you with the details on how I created it, let's just say that I used some yummy POD stamps and distress inks. But of course if you wish to know more you can ask me a question through my link at the top of my blog.

Well I best be on my way, I have a little more dreaming out the french doors to do and then better do something around the house.

Bluebird Couple!

Hey Friends! How was everyone's Valentines Day? I hope you all enjoyed the day and got a little spoilt. Ours was a quiet one, pretty much just a normal day really, but hey spending time together is really what it is all about isn't?

So today I wanted to share a card with you that happens to be a new digital image that will be released into Tiffany Doodles store this Friday, there will be sneak peeks of these cards along the way this week, make sure to check out the blog.

I always feel that colouring these images in are never my strong point, but I actually thoroughly enjoyed the process.

100_5621

I took the Bluebird Couple image resized and printed out onto some white card stock, colouring the image in with my Copics and trimming down to fit onto some trimmed black card stock. Next, taking the Envelope Pattern stamp from Hero Arts, I inked up with Frost White Ink and stamped the front of a trimmed Kraft card. Adhering the Bluebird Couple to the front of the card using foam dimensionals and lastly trimming white card stock to stamp a sentiment from the Hero Arts, Essential Messages stamp set, adhering this also to the card.

I haven't had much time to just sit and colour these days and I have to say that colouring this sweet image in, I have missed it some, so I am heading into the craft room to do a little more colouring now.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day!

Friendship Parade!

Hey girls! Hard to believe that it is Monday yet again, I mean truly where does that weekend go to. Hoping you all had a fun weekend and that there was some crafting involved.

My friend Mary Dawn has been suggesting for awhile now that I try and get some of my creations submitted for publication, so a couple of weeks ago I took the plunge and decided to make a couple of cards...and that literally means a couple. I found that I just ran out of time and to tell you the truth I was really nervous trying to create something, so possibly not my best work, however that being said I really did like how this card turned out. Unfortunately, it was no picked up for publication, but at least it was good experience as to know what to do and well you just have to keep on trying.

So seeing as this card was not picked up for publication, I will publish it here for you all to enjoy.

100_5624

Taking Kraft card stock, trimming to size to form a card, stamping the Envelope Pattern stamp that was inked with Frost White ink over the front of the card, setting this aside to dry. Next, trimming some October Afternoon patterned paper and the It's a Parade stamp, I inked it up with some black in and stamped onto the patterned paper. Wanting the parade line a little longer, I took my stamp-a-majig and relined up and once again stamped. Taking some distress ink, Peeled Paint and Broken China, I blended top and bottom of the patterned paper. I added a sentiment from the Thank You for Being My Friend stamp set to the patterned paper as well. I adhered the patterned paper to some, trimmed white card stock and then adhered this to the front of the card. Lastly, adding some jute to complete the card.

So if ever the chance arises for you to submit some of your creations for publication, I urge you to do so, it may be a nervous experience but it is one that helps you grow.

Okay so I am off to get a little dinner organised..some yummy pork chops are on the agenda tonight.

I will be back tomorrow to share a new digital image that is being released at Tiffany Doodles, and I have to say that first off I really did not know how I would tackle this image as it really is not my strong point, but I thoroughly enjoyed colouring this image, so be sure to check in to see what the image is.

With Sympathy!

Hey Friends! Today once again is Sunday and it is time for another card created for Jay Gee's Nook.

I decided to take the idea of of using the same sentiment stamps and combine them all onto the one piece of card stock, something like the PTI challenge that is currently running.

100_5619

I took some Kraft card stock, trimmed to size, taking the sentiment sympathy from the Practicing Creativity, Natures Wonder stamp set, I stamped directly onto the Kraft card stock, colouring the inside of the stamped image with my Copic. I then took several other sentiments from the stamp set and inked with Colorbox Ink, Frost White I stamped in several places onto the card stock. Next, taking the flower stem from the same set, I inked it up with some Hero Arts, Soft Lilac and stamped over to one side, adding a stamped butterfly also from the same set. Adding the Kraft card stock to a trimmed purple card and lastly, adding rhinestones to match along with some scoring lines at the base of the card to complete.

A very simple one layered card that is a great technique to punch out several cards all at once.

Okay so I don't know about you but I am off to check out what Judith and Ange have created for us today, you are more then welcome to join me...also don't forget there is still plenty of time for you to break out those stamps and get inky to create a card for the current challenge, make sure to check it out HERE.

I have plenty of work on my agenda today, so best get cracking and get some of it done.

Catch you all during the week.

Love Noteblocks!

Hey friends! How has everyone's day been? I hope you have had some time to relax and maybe had time to sneak in a little crafty time.

Today I wanted to share a card I created for Purple Onion Designs, Michele asked us design team members whether we had time to whip up a quick Valentines day card for a blog hop that her company was asked to join in.

I thought this was a little fun project and one that I could once again take out my beautiful POD stamps and create a fun card.

100_5604

Taking white card stock, trimming to size to form the card, next, taking the Hugs Small Block stamp, inking it up with some Versamark Ink and stamping onto Kraft card stock, embossing with white embossing powder. I trimmed around each of the note blocks and adhered to the card using foam dimensionals. Taking Pink Sorbet twine, adding it to the other side of the note block stamped images , before tying into a bow, I punched a tag out of more white card stock and stamped a sentiment, placed it through the twine and tied the bow to complete the card.

Be sure to check Purple Onion Designs for some fantastic eye candy and to view the blog hop's amazing prizes, be sure to hop along for a chance to win.

Hope you all enjoy your night, I will be back tomorrow with another card to share with you all.

Day Off!

Hey girls, today I spent the day having a me day, and have to tell you it was fabulous and needed. Went out and had a little pampering..then some shopping, although that was a little disappointing..came home and created the afternoon away..and now ending it on a perfect note having a cuppa tea and typing my blog post to my favourite readers.

100_5609

I took pink card stock and trimmed it to form a card. Next, taking some white card stock and cutting a circle, I then took the Musical Walk stamp that was inked with Latte ink and stamped it on the circle. I also stamped the La Lettre over the circle that was inked with Soft Sand ink, adding distress ink, Antique Linen around the edges to soften. Taking more white card stock and trimming to size, I stamped the Envelope Pattern that was inked with Soft Pink ink over the white card stock, I adhered this to the front of the card also adhering the circle using foam dimensionals. Stamping a sentiment onto the card from the Thank You for Being My Friend stamp set. Lastly, adding some pink rhinestones to complete the card.

Okay so before I leave you tonight I wanted to do a little sharing:

Have you checked out Dawn's blog today, gorgeous!

Papertrey Ink - Make it Monday!

Hey girls! How has everyone's day been? Mine started out having a 10 hour sleep, I think my whole body just needed that massive catch up and it felt great. I have today off and I am heading out for a day of pampering and shopping, that is once I wake, so what could be better.

Okay so enough babble from me, now onto today's card. I wanted to enter at least one of the competitions that is currently running over at one of my favourite stamp companies, Papertrey Ink. I was so pleased to see that they have decided to create videos once again, and I have to say that Erin Lincoln did an awesome job. So much so that it inspired me to give the Make It Monday challenge a go.

100_5600

I took several Thank You stamps from several PTI stamp sets and stamping them straight onto a trimmed piece of white card stock, adding colour around the stamped image using several colours from Colorbox Ink range, inking up the stamps out of the Dot Spot stamp set and stamping onto the white card stock. I then adhered this to some deep aqua card stock, which was then mounted onto a trimmed black card.

I loved the fact that this card can be given to either a female or male, I also love being able to create one a layered card, these are sometimes hard but I find them rather gratifying to create, I suppose it is the fact that they can be made so quickly, especially when you are sometimes pushed for time. Don't be afraid to give it a go.

Don't forget to check out all the festivities that are happening over at Nichole's blog, it happens to be the 8th year that PTI are celebrating and their is so many fun and wonderful things going on.

Well I hope you all have a great day and find a little time to pamper yourself too!

Love Bug!

Hey girls! So sitting in bed here late tonight typing up my blog post for you all to read, some of you when you wake in the morning and for others that have just woken and can read over there first cup of tea or coffee.

I wanted to create a card using the Hero Arts, Going stamp set, but felt like most people when first viewing this stamp set, that the stamps were more of a male feel. so I have opted to turn one of these stamps into a more girlie feel card.

100_5593

I started by stamping the Cling Dots background stamp that was inked with Colorbox Ink, Frost White onto the front of a trimmed Kraft card stock card, setting aside to dry. Next, taking the Going stamp set and the sweet little bug car, I stamped the car onto some My Minds Eye, Fine and Dandy patterned paper, trimming around the card, whilst the stamp was out, I also re stamped it onto some white card stock, this time only trimming the windows out of the car, adhering each to the patterned paper car. Taking more of the patterned paper, I stamped the flags from the Friendly Flags stamp set, trimming around the stamped images. Taking the card once again, I assembled the flags to the top of the card using foam dimensionals, adding white twine that were tied in bows and adhered with Glossy Accents either side of the flags. I stamped a sentiment from an old set of stamps that I have in my collection, found that the sentiment was rather fitting for the card. Lastly, I adhered the car to the card using more foam dimensionals and more Glossy Accents was added over the windows.

Sorry for the not so great photography on this one, it was late tonight when I took the photo and after a long day at work to boot.

I hope that you enjoy this card and find a little bit of inspiration to create something that makes you smile today.

Before I leave you and lay my head down for the evening, I just want to take another opportunity to thank everyone that passes through my blog and leaves such sweet, wonderful and encouraging comments, it is so nice to wake every morning to read your lovely comments. It means a lot that you take the time to do so and knowing I get to read these comments, it spurs me on to create more. I hope that my creations do inspire you all, thank you so much.

Have a great day!

Tiffany Doodles - February Challenge!

Hi everyone! hard to believe that it is February, where does the time go to?? As it is February, it is time for another Tiffany Doodles challenge, which is Valentines. There have been many great digital images added to the shop for you to create that perfect Valentines card.

The rules for this challenge have changed a little in the way of it will now be 2 week challenge instead of the normal monthly challenge, with some wonderful prizes at the end, so be sure to check out the blog to view the details and also to see the amazing eye candy of cards and creations, created by the wonderful Design Team for lots of inspiration.

So now it is time for you to see the card that I created for the challenge.

100_5548

I printed out the banner from the Be Mine Set onto light pink card stock, and trimmed around the hearts, adding it to some trimmed white card stock. I adhered little bows at the ends of the banner using white twine and also some pink rhinestones to the hearts. Next, stamping a sentiment from the Hero Arts, Be My Valentine under the banner and adding rhinestones under the sentiment. Deciding that the white card stock needed an added something to it, I drew a border around the card stock with a fine black pen and added some distress ink, Spun Sugar, that was blended over the edges of the card stock. Lastly, adhering to a trimmed Kraft card stock using foam dimensionals.

Okay, so I am off to watch a little television and relax for the night!

Have a great night!

Sunday Bliss!

Hey everyone! Finally I can sit here and write a post for you all to read in the nice cool air, the break in the weather reached us late last night and it is truly bliss. So nice to be able to have a good nights sleep and wake up to a nice refreshing day and feel energised.

So this fine Sunday brings me to listening to my wonderful man mow our ever over grown lawn and me sitting here writing up a post for Jay Gee's Nook, Sunday DT card.

This week, I am showcasing A Muse stamps paired with some Hero Arts yummy background stamping.

100_5579

I took a Hero Arts, Eggshell note card and the Friend Definition background stamp that was inked with Soft Sand ink, I stamped over the front of the card and set to working on the rest of the card. Taking white card stock and trimming it to size and stamping the Jasmine Silhouette that was inked with Soft Sand ink. To get the colour of the flower that I was after, I coloured over the stamped image using my Prismacolor Pencils, adding different highlights to the flower until I achieved the desired look. I then took some distress ink, Antique Linen and blended around the edge of the white card stock to soften, to give the image more effect, I took the Tim Holtz, Designer Ruler and pin pricked around the edge of the card stock. I backed the image onto some matching pink card stock and adhered to the front of the card using foam dimensionals. I added a sentiment onto a piece of trimmed white card stock and blended around the edges to match the other white card stock, adhering this to the card also with foam dimensionals. Lastly, adding some matching rhinestones to complete the card.

So once again, I am off to check out Jay Gee's Nook blog to see what Judith and Ange have been up to. Don't forget also that there is still time to enter the Challenge that is currently running.

Enjoy you Sunday!

Friendship!

Hey everyone! today sees me typing another post to you in 100% humidity with approximately 36 degree heat, to say the least, it is not nice at all. I went into the craft room to create this card that I am sharing today and came out dripping wet. When oh when will this weather ease!! I know that I shouldn't really complain as I know that this year everyone is suffering from weather conditions in one way or another, whether it is horrid heat, to freezing cold and snowing blizzards, to floods and now here in Australia we have now faced one of the most horrific cyclones that hit the Queensland coast only a couple of days ago, my heart and thoughts go out to everyone effected by these events.

These horrific events seem to always bring out the best in people, and binds peoples friendships for life, so today's card seems to fit that comradeship today.

I started out trimming a piece of white card stock to fit a snow Hero Arts card, then taking the Classic Fabric Design stamp, I inked it with some Soft Pool ink and stamped over the trimmed white card stock. I wanted to soften the outside of the stamped image, so taking distress ink Tumbled Glass, I blended around the edges, setting this aside to work on the rest of the card. Taking more white card stock and the Four Flowers stamp set, I stamped up 2 of the flowers out of the set with some Soft Sand ink, trimming around each one and adding distress ink, Antique Linen to the edges of the flower to also soften, I adhered each of the flowers together using foam dimensionals. Trimming again more white card stock and adhering to the fabric design background, I stamped a sentiment from the, Thank You for Being My Friend stamp set. Adding some lace to the top of the trimmed white card stock and a small strip of blue card stock to give the white card stock a more finished look. Next, attaching the flower with more foam dimensionals, adding pearls to the centre of the flower and around the sentiment. Lastly, adhering to the front of the card using once again foam dimensionals.

Here is a close up of the card.

So before I finish up for today, I just wanted to leave a short note here from Judith of Jay Gee's Nook, if you happen to follow my blog as well as hers, she currently does not have power, due to the fact that where her and her family live were in the path of the category 5 cyclone. All of them are safe and are okay, but are unable to access any computers, hence, no orders can be issued out if you have placed one. Please bear with this situation, it just happens to be that this is out of her control and I am sure that when things get back to a little bit of normality then you will receive your orders.

Okay, so I think I am going to head off now and take a cold shower to cool down a little. We are expecting a change in the weather on Sunday, so fingers cross it cools down, just a little so that I can craft again normally.

Hope you are all either keeping cool or staying warm where ever you may be in the world.

Hugs

Jane's Doodles Design Team!

Hey everyone! Back here tonight to share some very exciting news that I have been hanging out to tell you all and that is I have joined Jane's Doodles Design Team.

As most of you will know Jane designs her own Digital Images which are super cute, and some of those digital images have just been made into stamps, which are truly beautiful, she has also just started her own shop that you can buy her images from, which you can view HERE. Jane also creates beautiful handmade buttons which she sells through her own Etsy store and also here in our very own Australia at Jay Gee's Nook, she has also recently started to create her own embellishment line as well, which she sells also through her Etsy shop, make sure you check out all the links.

I could not be more thrilled to be working for Jane and also designing alongside some amazing, talented and creative ladies.

To announce my arrival into Jane's team I have created a card using the Daisy image, I truly love flowers and this beautiful Daisy really was crying out to me to be used.

I downloaded the Daisy onto some white card stock and coloured in with my Copics, I trimmed around the image and added some pearls to the centre. Next, I took some Kraft card stock that was trimmed to size and the Hero Arts, Flourish Background stamp that was inked with Versamark Ink, I stamped over the top of the Kraft card stock and embossed with white embossing powder. I adhered the flower to the card stock using foam dimensionals. I then took white card stock and trimmed to stamp a sentiment from the Hero Arts, Sending Smiles stamp set, adding a small strip of purple card stock to the top of the sentiment, along with pearls to match. Lastly, I adhered the card stock to a trimmed white card using more foam dimensionals.

I had planned on creating more projects using Jane's gorgeous images, but with the heat wave we are having at present, my poor little craft room is over powering with heat. I hope to return with a few more creations once it cools off a little.

Join me in hopping over to Jane's blog to find out who the other Design Team members are, I know that I am excited to see their creations.

Before I leave tonight, I just want to take the time to thank Jane for bestowing this wonderful position on me, I hope that I can bring her designs to life.

Hugs
