Hooray!

Hello everyone! so I feel that the title of this post is so so fitting, today I can say Hooray as it is Friday and I have the weekend off, well actually I have 3 days off, so it is going to be heaven. I also feel that the title is fitting for you my wonderful readers as yes there is another giveaway...so I bet that you are all saying Hooray too!!!

Before I let you in on the giveaway, I have a card to share with you all...and if you are here to visit the Jane's Doodles blog hop, then please see the post below..I could not be more thrilled at reading all your beautiful comments from that posting, you always know how to bring a smile to my face, thank you!

I have been watching a lot of Kristina Werner videos lately...I have followed her for many years and find her style unique and yet so inspiring....I felt that I wanted to incorporate some of her style in this card that I created.

100_6373

Trimming some white card stock and stamping the circles from the You Are The Best stamp set with Jenni Bowlin inks, Brown Sugar, Cough Syrup and Weathervane, collaging the images together to form a retro feel card. Adhering this to another piece of white card stock, giving it matting around the stamped image and then adhered this to a trimmed Kraft card stock, corner rounding the corners and adding a white dash line around the edge. Finally, inking up the Hooray sentiment from the Hooray stamp set with Versamark Ink and stamping onto Poppy Cardstock, trimming off the end and adhering this to the front of the card with foam dimensionals.

Okay I no your itching to find out what the giveaway is and well one lucky reader will win this stamp set below....just leave me a comment on this blog post, telling me what you love to do on Christmas Eve... by Wednesday 9th November, 10pm (Australian EST Time).

Well I am off to put the feet up and have a cuppa and watch some TV, time to relax...

Have a wonderful night!

Hugs

Great card ... I love going to my dad's on Christmas eve and kicking off the holiday. It's been a tradition ever since my parents got divorced. It's a very fun time.

That is one fantastic card, bold and graphic yet still intricate. The best thing I ever do on Christmas Eve is sing Happy Birthday to my oldest, he'll be eight this year!

Great card Joy. I can see how you have been inspired by Kristina. here. On Christmas Eve we celebrate my daughter's birthday and try to make it her own special day.

Great card! I really like the pop of the red circles though they still blend in with the rest of it nicely! Christmas Eve has been a moving target for us the past few years. We've been out of town the past 4 Christmases and while this one is SUPPOSED to be at home which I desperately want since our son will be 4, I think we'll be travelling again. I'd LIKE it to be your typical cookies/milk for Santa, finish presents under the tree, hang the stockings kind of night. We'll see.

LOVE your card!!!!!!!!! and how cute are those reindeer in sweaters!! LOL

What a great card! I absolutely love it! In Norway we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve. Then I'm together with my whole family. I live abroad, so I enjoy this time with my family very much! :-)

Hooray, indeed! I love the graphic style of this card. And the colours are fantastic!
Christmas Eve we try to have a relatively quiet time as a family. My husband brought the tradition of opening one present from his childhood, which my kids think is a great tradition! We put out carrots for the reindeer, and whisky for Santa. And the kids go to bed with their last ditch effort at getting on the "nice" list. :-)

Miriam Prantner said...

Great card! And you could alter the colors and use it for pretty much any occasion.

Just wanted to say that I love this card, and had never seen this stamp set before. I would not have even known what to do with it, if I had not seen your card! I don't do much on Christmas eve, as we are Jewish!

Gorgeous card, Joy! Christmas Eve is called "Nochebuena" in Spain and is the most important part of our Christmas celebrations. Families gather together to have dinner around the table, we sing carols, have yummy food (seafood, turkey, roasted fish or lamb and tipical Christmas sweets like turron are some of the yummy things we eat in Nochebuena) and enjoy the spirit of the night when the Child Jesus was born.

Lee said...

Another stunning card. Christmas Eve is so special as my whole family gets together at my folks home. We have yummy goodies to eat and we all get to open a couple of gifts.

Kelley said...

Love your card!

On Christmas Eve, we generally get ready for Santa by leaving out some shortbread biscuits (my favourite) and a beer. We also leave some water and carrots for the reindeer. Dad handles the stocking issue as I struggle to stat up past 8:30, but on the plus side I'm up before DD so I get to see the excitement!

Love the collage of images and the pop of red.
On Christmas Eve I love to relax with family at home after a very busy month at work.

Christmas Eve is so much fun! It's an open house so family and friends are encouraged to drop by to visit. We don't really cook dinner but rather have lots of finger foods on hand. The Christmas music is playing and so is It's A Wonderful Life (the original B&W version) for anyone who wants a bit of nostalgia..

LOL I love KW too. I guess we all enjoy visual inspiration and crafty stimulation. even someone as talented as you. I don't know why that surprises me. ;) I love this new HA reindeer set. I want the dies too! Thanks for a chance to win stamps. We are usually opening gifts with some branch of the family, usually our kids and their spouses, since everyone has to divide their holiday time between both sets of parents and family. And we are very flexible, so we all get our time together.

Christmas Eve we always go to Mass as a family.... sometimes the Family Mass at 8.30pm and sometimes the Midnight Mass.... and then of course, I have to load up the stockings.... one for each of us... with the goodies. Always lots of fun.

We go to my family on Christmas morning after church and then come home to take the turkey from the oven and cook dinner! I so adore creating new family traditions with my own children. Ok the ard: LOVE it! Very graphic. I'm happy to see the faux stitching that KW does so frequently--ADORABLLLLEEE :) lol

The christmas eve thing. Well, it's changed since I met hubs. He always watches Scrooge. Some weird 80s movie wtih Bill Murray, so I have to too. It's funny but bizzarre.

I however, like to quietly sneak outside and stare at the sky, JUST IN CASE I manage to see something one night:) Yes I'm over 30, but hey, you never know!!!

What a GORGEOUS card. I LOVE all those spots of red! And the embossed sentiment on the red... Fantabulous!!! And what an adorable set from HA! I would love to get my hands on that!!! On Christmas Eve, my family and parents pile into our car and visit one specific neighborhood to look at Christmas lights! We have been doing that since I was a kid so we are carrying on that tradition with my son and them! I love it....... :)

I love your work Joy! Christmas Eve we celebrate enjoying a traditional Christmas Dinner whilst listening to Christmas Carols. We stay up until midnight & open all our presents. Now that I have a little boy I don't think we'll be staying up that late so this year maybe a little different.
