Big Announcement!

Happy Wednesday to you all, it is a wonderful day here today, feels like a Spring day outside, I have been out and enjoyed a little sunshine....today also happens to be my partner Darryl's birthday, I unfortunately will not get to see him until tomorrow, but I did leave him a sweet note before he left for work and I will leave his birthday present out for him to open up when he gets home...I wish him the happiest of birthdays yet!!

Yesterday I said make sure to come back to see a big announcement and well today is the day to reveal just that....the news is that I have joined the Simon Say's Design Team...the wonderful and sweet Heidi contacted me a couple of weeks ago and asked if I would be interested...so with a little thought I accepted to join this wonderful and creative team. The girls on the team as well as the Simon Say's crew have been incredibly welcoming and I am so looking forward to the journey with them all.

If you have never checked out the STORE then it is a must, they have a huge range of amazing products, the customer service is wonderful and shipping rates are awesome!!

Each week on the Challenge blog there will be a challenge for you all to enter, the prize at the end of the challenge is $50 to spend in store, so what could be more of an incentive to join in the fun with us all....

Speaking of challenges, today is the start of a new challenge over at the BLOG and this week is all about Newspapers....you can use the real thing, patterned paper anything related to Newspaper....

Here is the card that I created for this challenge...

100_6138,

I took white card stock and covered it with a piece of pattern paper from the Echo Park, For the Record, trimmed to size, added some Tim Holtz, Symphony Tissue Tape down one side of the paper, added distress ink, Vintage Photo and Brushed Corduroy around the outer edges of the paper...finally adding a stitching line around the edge. Moving onto the rest of the card, I took one of the Butterflies from the Hero Arts, Butterflies stamp set, inked it up with Versamark Ink and stamped onto Water Colour paper, heat setting with white embossing powder. Blending over the top of the butterfly with distress ink, Victorian Velvet, Aged Mahogany and Vintage Photo...next came the fun part, taking the Mini Mister that was filled with a water solution of Perfect Pearls...spraying over the top of the butterfly heavily and heat setting, giving the butterfly a pearly shine. I adhered the card stock with the pattern paper to a trimmed white card along with the butterfly and to complete the card I stamped a sentiment onto a trimmed tag from the Type stamp set and adhered the card.

Here is a closer look of the card to show the pearl shine on the butterfly.

So be sure to head over to the Challenge blog to see all the details of the new challenge...
