Globe!

Hey my friends! Isn't it fab to know that it is the weekend, it has been rather a long drawn out week for me, so I was so grateful for today, knowing I could relax and try and recover further from being sick..but I have to tell you it is still hanging around, so rather persistent.

I have struggled this week to do anything crafty..although I have wanted to but the body has not allowed..however I did venture in there this afternoon and created a card for the current Hero Arts Challenge.

The card that I created I decided to give my Silhouette Machine another go...it seemed as though the machine and I really never saw eye to eye and I became so frustrated with it that I literally let it sit for many months...the problem I was finding was trying to find the right card stock that would cut...that issue has now been resolved and we are back on terms again...I have been cutting like crazy today.

One of those die cuts I used was from the Hero Arts Portfolio, called the Globe. Setting it to the right size on my computer and sending it to be cut on the silhouette, I then pulled it off the mat very carefully and applied distress ink, Broken China and Brushed Corduroy. Trimming a white card to size, adding score lines to the base of the card and in between the score lines I added a sentiment from the Hero Arts, All Occasion Messages stamp set. To complete the card, I adhered the Globe to the card using foam dimensionals and added rhinestones to the base of the card.

I find that not only do we have wonderful men in our own lives, but we also have great male friends that can always do with a card..thus this is what I created here today.

I am feeling that now the issue between the Silhouette and Me has been resolved and that there is some love coming back into the fold, I will see myself using it more and more.

I hope you all enjoy viewing the card and that it gives you some inspiration..I look forward to seeing you all back here again tomorrow.

Have a wonderful Saturday night!

Hugs

Oh wow! I thought it was metal too, til I started reading. Very clever of you, Joy! This is a great card-I can see sending it to someone who is going on a trip, someone who's come home from one, even for an "across the miles" sentiment. Actually this card is quite versatile!!
Thanks for sharing it:)

This is really unique and totally awesome Joy! I also have a Silhouette which is simply collecting dust, I think I feel the same way about it that you did! Maybe I need to get it out and try to do something with it, I justhate not using my stuff, it's such a waste!
