Layered Background Stamping!

Hey Friends! How is everyone's start of their week going? You know it is only at the start of the week..LOL, but I am hanging out for the weekend to arrive.

I am off to give myself a little treat today..that being a massage, although I know there will be some sore spots, but it will feel so good to get them out..I hope you all find sometime today to spare a minute for yourselves, you all so deserve it.

Okay onto the card for today, last week, if you had been following the Hero Arts blog, the lovely, talented and uber funny Shari Carroll shared a week showcasing some techniques of layered background stamping...and well I fell instantly in love with this beauty..

So had to give this technique a go and this is how my card turned out, just by really having a little play.

I took some white card stock, some Colorbox Inks and the Hero Arts, Starburst stamp, inking it with 3 different colours and stamping onto the white card stock, trimming around each to form 3 different layers, placing a pearl brad through the centre to hold. Taking a Eggshell note card, Life of the Party Dots and some Soft Sand ink, stamping directly onto the front of the card, heat setting the stamped background. Next, taking yet another stamp, La Lettre, Versamark Ink and white embossing powder, I inked the stamp and stamped onto the front of the card, to one side, embossing with white embossing powder, giving the effect of layered stamping. I adhered the Starburst image to the card using foam dimensionals, trimming more white card stock, adhering to the front of the card and stamping a sentiment from the Sending Smiles Messages stamp set. Finally, adding some jute to the top of the sentiment and some pearls to complete the card.

Loving this technique and I certainly need to use this more!

Okay time to head off now and get a few things done before I head for the massage..

Hope you all have a great day!

Hugs!

Joy, WOW! These are both so, so pretty! I love that effect! Gorgeous colors, too.

Btw, I've been begging Kelly Marie Alvarez of Lawn Fawn for a Critters Down Under stamp set. I could really use the backing of an Aussie stamper! Chime in the discussion with what Australian animals you'd like to see in the set! Go here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/lawnfawn/discuss/72157626092400497/#comment72157626221140724

Joy, Me Too! I'm subscribed to way too many blogs. I'm dying to try Shari's technique and love her tutorials. I don't have any Hero Arts stamps, but I want so many, especially the backgrounds. Your card is making me want them even more. LOL
