Distress Background!

Happy Hump Day! Finally the middle of the week, time is just flying by, hard to believe we are now at the start of Autumn, but between you and I, I am ever so grateful...Summer this year has been horrific what with weather conditions and major destruction everywhere here in Australia. I know that we still have a few more warm days ahead of us for at least the next month, but we are nearly there!

Today I wish to share a card with you, having fun with distress inks...I created a card that I know from time to time us crafty people have some trouble making male cards, so I wanted to share another with you.

I took Hero Arts, watercolour paper and distress inks, Peeled Paint, Rusty Hinge, Broken China and Antique Linen. Taking the Classic Fabric Background stamp and adding Peeled Paint, Rusty Hinge and Broken China over the stamp, spritzing with water and stamping directly onto the paper, heat setting it with my heat gun. I felt that it was quite strong in colour and so to tone it down, I took the Antique Linen and applied over the top of the paper, I trimmed around the stamped image and sewed around the out side. Next, taking white card stock, trimming to size and stamping a sentiment from the Made with Love stamp set, adhering to the watercolour paper. Lastly, adding some jute to the top of the white card stock and an olive green strip of card stock to the base of the white card stock, then adhering this to a trimmed white card.

I hope that this card gives you some ideas for making great male cards.

So before I leave you today, I wanted to add some sharing here:

I found this girls blog a few weeks ago from a tweet put over twitter, talented and makes some wonderful videos too, THIS is one of the first cards I watched her create, check out her BLOG.

I love this card by Virginia...love the simplicity and that flower, sheer beauty.

As always such an INSPIRATION to me..Love this girls work.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS.

This card is STUNNING!

Love how fun this CARD is...

Okay, so I hope you all enjoy the eye candy and that it gives you lots of inspiration to get that mojo going.

Hugs

Had to comment on your gorgeous card before I check out your links. I love it!! Now I'm going to try it. But what amazes me is that you are headed into Autumn in March!! We've only ever had Spring arrive in March so what a mind bender it is to think that your seasons are just the opposite of ours. Autumn in March...Summer in December...lol, just trying to picture it.:) Enjoy your Wednesday!
