So today brings us to day 5 of my honouring week, and another day closer to the next reveal that you all can be involved in. Today I am honouring this special person, one that has uber amounts of talent, what ever she touches comes out amazing, loves to dabble in mixed media type projects that are awe inspiring. That person who I speak of is my sweet friend Shari Carroll.
This happens to be one of the cards that she has recently created, is it not the greatest card you have seen in awhile? So I knew I had to try and create something that was similar.
Here is the card that Shari created.
I love all the features on this sweet card!
Here is the card that I created.
I took Eggshell layering paper and trimmed it to form a card, taking the Life of the Party Dots, inking with Latte ink and stamping onto the front of the card. Taking patterned paper from My Minds Eye stamping the ice cream cone that was from the set Life of the Party Birthday, trimming the ice cream from one and the cone from the next, adding touches of walnut stain distress ink around the edges of the ice cream. Trimming white card stock to form a tag, stamping a sentiment from the Type stamp set, adhering a trimmed strip of more patterned paper from My Minds Eye and adhering to the base of the card, adding twine around the top of the strip. Punching a circle out of the front of the card and stamping a sentiment from the Life of the Party Birthday set on the inside of the cut circle. Finally, adhering the cone and some pearls to complete the card.
Here is a close up view of the card.
I actually had a lot of fun creating this card and was my very first time at punching a circle out and stamping on the inside, I think this will be used once again in the future.
