Card for Mike!

Hey Everyone! If you have read the Hero Arts blog and have been following the Hostess blog hop you would have read that a dear friend of the company called Mike is battling with Cancer right now (a dreadful disease that claimed the life of my loving Dad many years ago). So I decided to create another card for Mike seeing as the ones that I created for the blog hop were rather girlie looking, I also wanted to create a card for this months challenge over at Hero Arts.

I was totally inspired by the cards created by the Wish You Were Here stamp set featured on page 18 of the 2011 catalogue.

I took some Kraft card stock, trimmed to size to form a card, then taking some Basic Grey, Curio patterned paper, I stamped the chair onto the paper and trimmed it out, I added some touches of distress ink, walnut stain around the outside of the image. Next, trimming some text paper, which I added some light touches of walnut stain, white card stock and some brown card stock, taking the white card stock, I stamped the sentiment that was contained in the set and adhered all the pieces to the card, adding some twine above the sentiment. I took the chair and attached it to the card using foam dimensionals, adding glossy accents to the buttons on the chair for added interest. Lastly, I coloured in some rhinestones brown to match using my Copics.

I think that this set is going to be quite a favourite of mine, I love the fact that it can be used to create male or female cards, depending on the occasion.

I hope you all have a really crafty day today!

Hugs
