Pairing Up Challenge Week 1 Robin, Vera and Myself!

Hi Everyone! So today Robin, Vera and Myself share our cards for the Pairing Up Challenge, when Jennifer McGuire and Myself took on a similar challenge a few weeks ago we had so much fun and everyone enjoyed the challenge so much, I decided to start a thread over at the Hero Arts, Flickr group to see if any of the wonderful ladies would be interested in a similar challenge. There was some great responses and so the challenge was set in place, with everyone making their own rules and having a lot of fun along the way.

So our groups challenge came up with an Inspired By Challenge, along the lines of what the talented and creative Jill Foster does on a weekly basis. Our rules were that Robin would pick one of my cards for week 1 and we would create a card inspired by mine, week 2 Vera will pick a card inspired by Robin and week 3 I will pick a card inspired by Vera.

I cannot tell you how excited I am to see what the girls have created inspired by my card and I have to tell you also that creating a card inspired by my own creation was a real challenge, but it was fun expanding the mind.

So without further ado here is the card that Robin was inspired by:

Free For All

This card was a card that I had created for Operation Write Home.

Here is the card that I created that was inspired by the above card:

I hope you enjoyed the fun post tonight and don't forget to check out Robin's and Vera's wonderful and creative cards. Make sure to check back in next week for the next installment of Inspired By Pairing Up Challenge.

Hoping to be back here again with you all tomorrow.

Garden Delight!

Hi Everyone! So today I was searching around on my computer and came across another Purple Onion Designs card that I though I would share with you.

Garden Delight

Starting with pink card stock, I cut the card stock down to form a card and set aside. Next, taking some white card stock I stamped the Doodle Flower Sentiment Set flowers onto the card stock and coloured the images in with my Copics and cut each of the flowers out. Onto more white card stock, I stamped the stem from a silhouette flower with black ink and also stamped leaves down each stems form the same Doodle Flower Sentiment Set and coloured each of the leaves in with my Copics also. I then adhered the flowers to each of the stems using foam dimensionals and added grass to the bottom of the flower stems using the grass from the #BF1 stamp set. I added a sky line by sponging on blue ink and adhered the white card stock to the card using more foam dimensionals. Lastly, I added a sentiment to the bottom of the card to finish the card.

Hoping to be back with you all tomorrow with a creation.

Enjoy the rest of your day, I am off to clean up around my house seeing as I have not felt up to it over the last couple of days.

Betsy Bluebell!

Hi Everyone! So it is about day 4 into my holidays and what a week ahead I have, lots of crafting, painting in the house and gardening.

So today I wanted to share with you a card that I have made for a sweet friend of mine and I hope when she receives it she will like.

I wanted to use the Betsy Blubell stamps from Penny Black, they are super cute.

100_4700

I took a Hero Arts, Lilac note card and stamped the Hero Arts, Flourish Background stamp inked with Hero Arts, Soft Lilac and covered the entire front of the card. Next, cutting white card stock using a Spellbinders, Label 8 die, I then stamped one of the Betsy Bluebell stamps onto the die and coloured it in with my Copics, adding little areas of white gel pen to the image. Once I was happy with the coloured image I took some blue ink and sponged onto the die to form a sky. I added a sentiment to the top of the card from the same stamp set and adhered the die cut to the car using foam dimensionals.

Here is another view of the card:

My Mum's Birthday!

Hi Everyone! So today was my Mum's birthday and my partner and I went and spent the day with her, we had a beautiful lunch and a nice wander around her garden. I love to visit the farm and spend time out there, so peaceful and quiet.

So to honour my Mum and to wish her a Happy Birthday, I wanted to share the card that I created for her and a photo of her.

100_4691

I stamped the Hero Arts, Large Plaid Pattern background stamp that was inked with Hero Arts, Soft Blossom ink onto a Hero Arts, Carnation card and using the white gel pen, I added white dots as added interest to the card and set aside. Taking white card stock I cut a die using the Tim Holtz, Movers and Shapers die and stamped the Hero Arts, Tall Flower once onto the die and then onto some scratch white card stock and coloured the images in with my Copics, with the image that was on the scratch card stock I cut the large flower out of the stamped image. Next, using some Ranger, Distress Ink, Antique Linen, I blended over the die cut, adding a slightly softer touch to the image. I adhered the flower that had been cut out to the flower on the die using foam dimensionals and then adhered the die cut to the card using more foam dimensionals. I cut another piece of white card stock to form a tag and stamped a sentiment from the Hero Arts, Essential Messages stamp set, also softening with the same distress ink to match. Lastly, adding pink rhinestones either side of the sentiment and adhering to the card using more foam dimensionals.

Here is another view of the card:

Here are the products used to create this card:

I also wanted to share this photo of my Mum, she may not like this photo, as she would say that she was in her house clothes and hair not done...LOL, but I love it as it is such a natural photo of my Mum and makes me smile, as it captures her to a tee. This photo was taken on a freezing day, my brother, his wife and kids had all come to stay and my partner and I came out for the day and we all went yabbying, so much fun even though the wind cut straight through us all.

100_0567

So happy birthday Mum, I hope you enjoyed your day!

I hope you enjoy the post tonight, and I will be back tomorrow with more for you to feast your eyes on seeing as I am now officially on holidays! YAY! Doing the Happy Dance!!!!

Hero Hostess Take Over!

Hi Everyone! So this week over at the Hero Arts blog, us hostesses have hijacked the blog and what fun it has been so far, first day was a hoot from Barb and Kryssi with some absolute gorgeous cards, second day we saw Jenny take over and what a sweet and cute Autumn card this was, so to carry on the theme of Autumn Colour I decided to change it up a little and create a layout and would you know it I did a video too. I was so nervous in creating this, so I hope that the ones I do in the future become a lot better.

So I wanted to share with you the layout that I created using lots of stamping to accent my page.

You can view the details on how I created this layout HERE.

As a treat here is the video that I created also.

I did tweak my layout a little more after finishing the video, adding some more features to the final project.

Don't forget to check out the Hero Arts blog for more about my post, as there is a wonderful photo for you to feast your eyes on.

Also check back in there again on Friday for the final day of take over with Nancy and Robin to round out our fun week.

Male Birthday Card!

Hey there! I thought that I would share a quick post with you today sharing a card that I designed for Purple Onion Designs. I know that some people find it hard to create a card for that loved male in our lives and so I created a card to show you.

100_4669

I cut a circle out of white card stock, cutting it with the Spellbinders Die, Standard Circles and inked the entire circle with Ranger Distress Inks, Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky. Once inked I took the Snow Drop flower and stamped across the circle using Ranger, Archival Ink, Black. Using more of the same ink Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky I inked a small strip of white card stock and set aside. I took more white card stock and created a card, I adhered the circle and stamped the Birthday Wishes sentiment under the circle and lastly, added the strip.

A really simple and easy card that is eye catching and a great male card.

Okay I am off to get some breakie.

Hope you all have a great day!

Inspired by Jill

Hi Everyone! Hope everyone's weekend is going well, I am now 6 days away from holidays and cannot come quick enough.

So today I wanted to pay tribute to a wonderful, creative, inspiring and so talented lady, Jill Foster, this week I had the honour of being featured on her amazing blog called Inspired By, and if you have never visited her blog, it has to be a must on you list of things to do. She WOW'S! me everytime she creates, each week she picks another creative person using there cards she creates her own interpretation of them, and I have to say her takes on my cards this week were awesome, so thank you Jill for the wonderful week!

To honour Jill, I wanted to show case the cards that were created from mine and also wanted to create a card of my own that I was inspired by Jill, so without further ado here are the cards:

Jill's Card

The colouring on this sensational card is truly stunning, not only does Jill know how to colour with Distress Ink she definitely know how to use those Copics!

Knowing how Jill loves butterflies I though that it would be fitting to add one to the card that I was inspired to make by Jill, so to say a big thank you to you Jill I have created this card:

Jill's Card

Inspired by...Jennifer McGuire!

I love the way uses the Distress Inks, it truly is awe inspiring and the little touches that she adds to her cards really pulls it together to form the most beautiful and incredible creation.

Here is my take on her card:

100_4687

I used Kraft card stock to form a card and using the Hero Arts, Flourish Background stamp inked with Colorbox Ink, Frost White I stamped the entire front of the card. Next, taking white card stock I inked the entire card stock with Ranger, Distress Ink, Scattered Straw and stamped the grass from the Hero Arts, Earth Flowers stamp set, backing it onto more white card stock. I then stamped a butterfly from the Hero Arts, Antique Engravings onto more white card stock and coloured the butterfly in with my Copics, once coloured in I cut the image out. Using yet again more white card stock I inked up a section using some Ranger, Distress Ink, Walnut Stain and tore it to give it more texture. Once I was happy with all the elements of the card I adhered everything onto the front of the card and lastly, adding a sentiment from the Hero Arts, All Occasion Messages stamp set.

Here is another view of the card:

A truly wonderful and talented person to be inspired by, thank you Jill for the amazing week!

I hope you all enjoy viewing these cards today and may it inspire you to create a project inspired by another.

Spooky House!

Hi Everyone! So today was a fantastic day for me, I got to craft all day long and WOW! did I achieve, so happy, got a few deadlines out of the road and was able to create just for the heck of it. The other good news for us today was that the Tradies finally turned up to put the new roof on and all though it was incredibly noisy I still enjoyed crafting.

So I wanted to turn my hand at another Halloween card, I am really enjoying making these cards even though Australians do not celebrate it.

100_4685

To make the card, I took white card stock and using Ranger, Distress Ink, Black Soot, I created a soft grey sky by blending the entire card stock, I then took the Hero Arts, Flourish Background stamp and using black ink that I stamped of once on a scrap sheet of paper first, and then onto the card stock, I set this aside. Next, taking the Hero Arts, House with Plant, I stamped it onto some more white card stock and coloured the image in with my Copics, once coloured in, I cut the image out. Taking the card stock that was stamped with flourish background, I stamped the house again onto this and adhered the coloured house over the image using foam dimensionals. I added the word spooky to the top of the card stock using the stamp set from Hero Arts, Bird Branch Alphabet. Taking a Hero Arts, Lilac card I stamped the Hero Arts, Graph Background stamp that was inked with Hero Arts, Soft Lilac. I added Silver Spica pen to parts of the stamped flourish background to add more effect and adhered the card stock to the front of the card using more foam dimensionals.

Here is another view of the card:

Halloween Card!

Hi Everyone! So how was everyone's day? Mine was spent catching up on some computer work, a few house things and of course the most important, crafting. With that being said, I had a card idea in my head today and decided to try and see if it would turn out, and well would you believe it has, usually that never happens, so I was very pleased.

In Australia we rarely celebrate Halloween, although it is starting to find it's way into our lives, as large businesses are starting to sell some products. Although, myself do not celebrate it, as it was never around when I was a kid, I think it could have been fun if it had though, anyways, I decided to make a card and maybe send it to one of my overseas friends :)

100_4656

I created the card by first cutting a piece of white card stock and blending Ranger, Distress Ink, Black Soot, covering the entire piece of card stock. Next, taking the Hero Arts, Small Metal Flourish stamp, I stamped it twice over the card stock stamping it with some Archival Ink, Jet Black to form what would eventually look like a gate. I added a Hero Arts sentiment from the Cuckoo stamp set to the top of the card stock and set aside. I then went into my digital designs on my computer and opening up the digital set, Thanksgiving from Hero Arts I downloaded the pumpkin that was in this set and copied and pasted it several times in Word, also resizing some of the pumpkin, once I printed them out, I coloured them in with my Copics and cut them out. Next, I took some purple card stock and cut to size to form a card and stamped the Hero Arts, Flourish Background stamp inked with Hero Arts, Soft Lilac ink over the front of the card. Taking the stamped card stock, I adhered it to the front of the card using foam dimensionals and at the bottom I added the pumpkins also adhering them with more foam dimensionals. Lastly, I added some black rhinestones opposite the sentiment to finish the card.

Here is another view of the card:

Here are the Copics I used to colour the pumpkins:

I really enjoyed making this card and was excited when it came together how I imagined.

I hope you enjoy viewing the card tonight and I will return tomorrow with more for you to feast your eyes on.

Another Print and Cut Card!

Hi Everyone! Well another day down and the road towards my holidays is getting nearer. Really looking forward to the long needed break.

So I wanted to share a quick post with you, showing another card that I use the technique Print and Cut on my Silhouette.

100_4160

Pretty simple card, just loaded the image up on my computer and place white card stock in my printer and printed the image out, the placed the card stock on the cutting mat and hit cut. Once the image was cut out, I then added extra colour to the image by using my Copics and white gel pen for accents. I added a Hero Arts sentiment to the other side of the image and lastly, added some rhinestones and adhered to a pink card using foam dimensionals.

I really simple card, one that you could produce several in a row for a quick gift or just to send out a few cards to love ones.

Enjoy viewing the card and I hope to be back here tomorrow with more eye candy!

Post Card!

Hi Everyone! WOW! What a busy week, just looked at the old blog and realised that it was Thursday since my last posting. I have spent the weekend catching up on house work, which was in much need and trying to craft for the Operation Write Home Bash, happening over at the Hero Arts Flickr Group. Dissapointed that I have not been able to participate like I wanted too, not being able to craft as much and not been able to comment as much as I would like to also, feel like I am being a bad Hostess! I am trying though! LOL.

So tonight I wanted to share another card that I designed for Purple Onion Designs. I love the feel of the post card look at present so I decided why not create a post card that could go on the front of a card.

Joy Taylor - Blossom Postcard

I took some pink card stock and formed a card, set aside and took some white card stock and stamped the Antique Ledger Background that was inked with Ranger, Distress Ink, Antique Linen over the white card stock. Next, taking the Bare Tree, I stamped it to one side of the post card stamping it with some Colorbox Ink, Antique Pewter, adding stamped blossoms to the tree and under the tree from the Hang in There stamp set that was inked with some pink ink. To make it look more like a post card I added the stamp from the Vintage Postcard Stamp set, stamping the words Post Card in Colorbox Ink, Antique Pewter. Lastly, blending more Antique Linen distress ink over the top to make it more of an aged effect and adhering to the card using foam dimensionals.

Here are the products used to create this card:

I hope you enjoy tonight's card, I look forward to be back here tomorrow to bring you the cards that I created for OWH, why not pop on over to the Hero Arts, Flickr Group and check out all the wonderful creations and possibly create something for one of the challenges, there is still time!

Have a great night and happy crafting!

Card Set!

Hi Everyone! So yes I have been neglecting the old blog lately, getting back on track is proving to be quite a challenge, but I do hope that it will return to normal soon. In the meantime I found this photo on my computer and thought that I would share it with you.

I designed this card set for Scrapbook Boutique using the beautiful Petaloo Velvet Butterflies.

100_3989

To create the set, I cut 3 cards the same size using white card stock, next using 3 different colours of card stock to match the butterflies I cut smaller then the fronts of the cards and ran each of them through the Cuttlebug, embossing each one with a different folder. I punched a circle out of each of the colour card stocks so that it would become a spotlight feature of each card. I adhered each of the colour card stocks to the front of each individual cards using foam dimensionals and then glued each of the corresponding butterflies inside the circle, adhering each with some Glossy Accents. Lastly, I cut tags for each of the cards, stamped sentiments on each, attached to the cards and added some matching rhinestones.

Here are some of the products used to create each card, you can purchase most of the products HERE.

Super quick set to create.

Before I sign out tonight, make sure you pop on over to Scrapbook Boutique's blog and check out the latest challenge that is happening, you can win a fabulous voucher to spend in the store, unfortunately, this is only open to Australian residents.

Hope you all have a great night, please bear with me and keep returning to my blog to visit, I will be back on deck again soon.

Fathers Day!

Hi Everyone! So it is Fathers Day here today and even though I don't have my Dad anymore, I think of him everyday and more so on days like today. I hope that all the Fathers out there have had a great day celebrating.

I created another card for my Aunt and Uncle and it seemed to be fitting for Fathers Day, so I thought that I would share it with you all.

100_4562

I started by taking white card stock and stamped a stamp from PSX, I cannot remember the name of the stamp (I must get my old catalogue out so as to be able to give you the name of these wonderful stamps). I coloured the image in using my Copics and stamped a sentiment at the top of the white card stock from the Hero Arts, Leaf Prints stamp set. I adhered this to some blue card stock and set aside. I took Kraft card stock and cut to size to form a card, next, I ran the front of the card through the Cuttlebug embossing the front using the Sizzix, Hello Friend, I then attached the image to the front of the card using some foam dimensionals.

Enjoy today's card, I unfortunately have to head for work now.

Blossom Tree!

Hi Everyone! How is your Friday going, I have had a busy day cleaning and trying to make cards and feeling very, very tired considering I didn't have much sleep last night, but anyway I thought that it was time to share a creation with you.

This is another card that I designed for Purple Onion Designs, using the Bare Tree stamp, this happens to be one of my favourite POD stamp at present.

Joy Taylor - Blossom Tree

Taking the Bare Tree stamp I inked it up using Colorbox Ink, Antique Pewter and stamped onto white card stock. Taking the blossoms from the Hang in There stamp set I stamped over the branches of the tree using Soft Lilac ink and adding some blossom under the tree as if some had fallen off. After the image had dried I added a sky line and grass section, sponging blue and green ink. I added a Thank You sentiment under the image and more sponging of green ink under the sentiment. I adhered this to more white card stock that was cut to form the card.

Here is what I used to create the card:

I also wanted to add here again tonight just a little reminder that if you would like any questions answered please email me of Formspring me which you can find in the side bar of my blog, please do not leave this in the comments section as I cannot reply. Thanks!

Hope you all have a great night!
