Baby Boy!

Hi Everyone! So it is Monday and it is back to work again..BOO! but the good thing for me is I only have 4 more weeks left of work and I am on holidays..I am so looking forward to being at home catching up on house work, garden and also painting out my craft room in it's new colour, that I am hoping to share with you all in a video :)

So tonight I wish to share with you a card that I designed for Purple Onion Designs. I love the Baby Noteblock Set, such a sweet set.

Baby Boy Noteblock

I stamped the baby boy noteblock onto white card stock using some blue ink and cut it out. Next, taking a piece of Kraft card stock that was put through the Cuttlebug and cut using a Spellbinders, Classic Scallop Square, I added white dots over the die cut using a white gel pen and attached the baby boy block image. I took a piece of blue card stock, cut it to size to form a card and adhered the die cut to the front using foam dimensionals. I added a sentiment to the bottom of the card stamping it with some Colorbox Ink, Frost White and also some blue pearls to match. Feeling that the card was missing something, I took my white gel pen again and added white dots around the edge of the card to match the dots on the Kraft card stock.

Here is a list of products used:

The baby block set is cute and really says it all! Check out the rest of the noteblock sets.

So I am off to catch up on a little commenting around the blog world and Flickr.

Have a great night!

Time for Tea!

Hi Everyone! So it is the weekend and it is great, I love being home with Darryl and Roly and even though we were both doing different things today it was nice to know that we were off for the weekend together. It was also nice to know that my mojo hadn't quite left me altogether, although how I felt when I woke up this morning (feeling like the bus had run over me) I did have concerns that it may have departed, so was nice to know it was still intact.

So I have a few cards in which I need to make for my Aunt and Uncle and one of those happens to be my other Aunties birthday card, so I thought that I would share with you what I created for her.

I decided to break out my Papertrey Ink, Tea for Two and Tea for Two Additions stamp sets and dies, I have had these sets for awhile now and had not had the chance to use them, so this was the perfect time to break out these sets and create the card.

100_4545

I took white card stock and ran it through my Cuttlebug, cutting the die of the teapot and the teacup, I then took the corresponding stamp and inked the teapot up with Papertrey Ink, Sweet Blush and stamped over the die cut and then inked the teacup stamp with Papertrey Ink, Spring Moss and stamped over the corresponding die also. Using more white card stock I took the label stamp that was in the same set and stamped this onto the card stock using Colorbox Ink, Antique Pewter, I punched this out using a 1 1/4 inch circle punch. Going with the same card stock colour white, I cut a piece that was large enough to fit all the die cuts and stitched around the outer edge, I then distressed the edges and lightly dusted it with Ranger, Distress Ink, Antique Linen. Once I was happy with the dusting of ink, I adhered all the pieces to the card stock and stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set at the base and adhered this to the front of a light green card using foam dimensiionals.

Here is another view of the card:

100_4546

Here are the products used to create this card:

I was really happy with the out come of this card, I love the colours of soft green with light pink, they match so well together and I always feel that it really gives the look of shabby chic and feminine touch. So hears hoping that my Aunt likes the card!

Well I am off to have some tea and watch some TV.

Sketch Pen!

Hi Everyone! So alass it is Friday, and I am ever so pleased, what a week! So any major plans for the weekend? I have much cleaning, washing and hopefully crafting to do, but on Sunday I will be attending a baby shower, so looking forward to that.

Today I wanted to share a card that I created for Scrapbook Boutique using the sketch pen for the silhouette machine. This was my first time at using the sketch pen and I have to say it was really easy and lots of fun, this also allowed me to colour in the image as well and seeing as I am right into my Copics it was perfect.

100_4424

Taking my blade holder out of the machine and inserting the sketch pen, I downloaded the image that I wanted to sketch from my library and open it up on the Robo Master page, I sized it to fit on the card and hit cut on the computer, instead of cutting the machine sketched out my design. Once the machine was finished sketching, I coloured the image in with my Copics and cut the image out, I added a sentiment from the Hero Arts, Essential Messages stamp set. I cut pink card stock to form the card and adhered the sketch image using foam dimensionals.

A very quick and simple card to make, but still allowing me to use my favourtie technique, colour.

So I also wanted to share some Bits and Pieces tonight:

Scrapbook Boutique are running there second challenge and if you are an Australian resident you are able to enter the challenge, so why not pop on over to the blog and check it out.

This card by Jill blew me out of the water when I saw it, you can see it HERE, amazing talent that inspires me each time a card is created.

Also Vanessa created a card using Tim Holtz products...beautiful work, view it HERE.

How about this stunning design by Maile...love the colours...check it out HERE.

How about this truly beautiful creation by Tami.

I fell in love with Deborah's sweet owls.

Lastly, this sweetie of a card by Libby.

So hopefully next week I will have some goodies to share with you again, I was a little naughty and paid my layby out sooner then expected so it is on it's way and I am also excited as I will be receiving my first lot of Lawn Fawn and Amuse stamps, I found a place online that was fantastic and I cannot wait to get my goodies to start inking them up.

Okay so I am off to watch a little TV before heading to bed.

Oh and nearly forgot, I have had a few people again asking me questions through the comments section, I cannot comment back to you if you have left this, please email me, I think one was from someone called "Kimz" so if this is you please email me, you can find this on the side bar of my blog. I also had a lady ask me if they could link me on their blogs, go for it and thanks! Please contact me if you wish to ask something, I will try and reply as soon as I can.

Cuckoo!

Hi Everyone! So how was your day? Mine was a day inside as it was freezing here and raining, not that I mind as it gave me time to play in the craft room, although not much happened in there either, it seems as though a little bit of my mojo is deciding to leave, I hope it doesn't go altogether.

So today I am sharing with you another Cuckoo clock card that I had made for my week challenge with Jennifer, but decided not to use it, and thought that I would share it with you today.

100_4478

Taking the Hero Arts, Cuckoo stamp set, I stamped the clock onto white card stock twice and coloured it in with Copics, I cut one of the clocks out and the other I cut the flower and the centre of the clock out on the second one, I adhered both of these pieces to the main clock, also adding small dots of white gel pen for added interest. Next, taking a Hero Arts, Lilac note card I stamped the entire front of the card with the clock face that was in the same stamp set using Hero Arts, Soft Lilac ink. Once I was happy with the front of the card I stamped the cuckoo clock on the card and added the coloured cuckoo to this using foam dimensionals, I also coloured pendulums. I added a sentiment from the same set to the bottom of the card and also some rhinestones to finish.

I love how one stamp set can be used for so many different stamping techniques, like creating your own backgrounds, so why not try something like this using one of your stamp sets.

Here is what I used to create the card and you can buy most of the products HERE.

So I am off to watch a little TV.

Have a great night!

Teacher Set & Goodies Video!

Hi Everyone! So I return today bringing you another digital set from Hero Arts called Kiddie Conveyance, super cute set. When viewing this set to buy, I originally thought what an adorable set for a little boy and then realised that there was a cute little school bus in the set and I thought I could make a set of cards that could be given to a teacher using the bus and a few other products.

100_4526

So downloading the little bus onto my Word page and resizing it to fit onto my card, I copied and pasted it a few times so that several could be printed out on the card stock, once printed I cut 3 of the buses out and set aside. Next, cutting 3 lots of Kraft card stock to form cards I inked up the Hero Arts, Graph Background stamp with Colorbox Ink, Frost White and stamped each card front and set aside to dry. Taking the Ledger stamp from Hero Arts I inked it up with the Hero Arts, Soft Sand and stamped it 3 times onto white card stock, I cut each of the ledger paper to size and punched along the top of each using the Ek Success, Binding border punch and added a light dusting of Ranger, Distress Ink, Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy. Setting the ledger paper aside, I took another 3 scrap pieces of white card stock and stamped 3 sentiments from the Hero Arts, Everyday Sayings and Thank You Sayings stamp sets and stamping around each sentiment using the Hero Arts, Write Your Message, I also stamped 3 times onto white card stock using the ruler from the Hero Arts, Sew Stylish, once the rulers were stamped I took Ranger, Distress Ink, Broken China, Barn Door and Shabby Shutters and coloured in each ruler. I cut each of the stamped images out and assembled each of the cards.

Here is a view of each individual cards:

So I have also a video for you to view, just some goodies that have arrived in the mail:

Hope that this set gives you some ideas for some teacher presents, I really enjoyed making these.

So have a great day and I will catch you all tomorrow.

Big Event! Day 7

Hi Everyone! So a very sad day today, today is the last day of my challenge with Jennifer, I have enjoyed my time with her immensely and I thank her from the bottom of my heart for being a truly great friend and a wonderful partner to do a fun challenge with, so thank you Jennifer.

For our last day, Jennifer and I decided to use a different stamp and this one happens to be a digital one, we have used the Hero Arts, Oh Boy!

100_4517

I decided to place the car (beetle) and the saying It’s a Boy onto my Word page and resize to fit onto my card, I printed it out onto white card stock, and then printed the car again onto Hero Arts, Layering Paper, Punch and Powder. I cut the various sections of the car out and adhered the white card stock to the window section of the car, I added Glossy Accents to make them look like windows. With the sentiment I stamped a message bubble from the Hero Arts, Write a Message around the sentiment and cut this out. Taking Kraft card stock to form a card, I then stamped the Hero Arts, Cling Dot Background stamp that was inked with Colorbox Ink, Frost White over the front of the card. I attached the car and the sentiment bubble to the card using foam dimensionals and to add a little fun to the car I added black buttons to form the tyres and stamped the words Beep, Beep.

Here is another view of the card showing the windows of the car:

100_4524

There is so many things that you can do with digital designs, and it is another way to have fun stamping, I love to stamp and I felt that there was a way that I could incorporate both to form a fun, sweet card for a little boy.

Here are the products that were used to create the card:

So there you have it, a fun week for you all and I do hope that you have enjoyed the week with us both, I wanted to say thank you so much to everyone for visiting and leaving such wonderful comments, I feel that Jennifer and I will return again to do another fun challenge in the near future.

Now I am heading to Jennifer’s blog to see what fantastic creation she has made.

Hugs to you all, especially to you Jennifer.

Short Post!

Hi Everyone! Just wanted to let you all know that Jennifer and I have postponed the last challenge day until tomorrow at present. Unfortunately, Jennifer is sick and needs to rest, poor thing, so we will be back hopefully tomorrow. Maybe, you could drop by her blog and send some well wishes to her.

Feel better Jennifer, my sweet friend!

So with the night off I was going to share a video with you tonight but 2mins away from finishing uploading to Youtube and it failed, so frustrating and really could say a few choice words right now. I am so tired and don't have the energy to upload for another 3hrs, so I will try again tomorrow and upload.

Hugs to you all and sorry that there is nothing to view tonight.

Big Event! Day 6

Hi Everyone! Jennifer and I are back with Day 6 and sadly tomorrow will be the end of our week challenge, but we hope to bring some more fun in the future. But it is not all over yet so to get Day 6 under way we are using the Hero Arts stamp, Garden Bouquet. I wanted to create a card that had simplicity but also was simple to create.

100_4482

To produce this card, I used Kraft card stock as the card and taking the Hero Arts, Thank You Sayings stamp set, I left all the sentiments on the clear plastic sheet and inked it up with Colorbox Ink, Frost White and placed the Kraft card stock over the stamps to form a background image. I then cut a circle out of the collection from My Minds Eye, Quite Contrary and stamped the Garden Bouquet in black, I adhered the circle to the front of the card using foam dimensionals. Next, I cut a tag using some white card stock and stamped a sentiment form the Hero Arts, All Occasion Messages stamp set and adhered this also to the card using more foam dimensionals. Lastly, I added some green rhinestones to match.

So there you have it, a very quick card to produce, but one which I hope has an impact.

Here are the products used to create this card:

I just wanted to add a little note that Jennifer will be posting her card for the challenge a little later, so be sure to check back in at her blog to find what wonderful creation she has made for Day 6 of our challenge.

So we will be back tomorrow to bring you the final day, I am feeling sad about this already, but excited yet again to see what Jennifer has created and also your wonderful comments.

Big Event! Day 5

Hi All! So Day 5 of the challenge with Jennifer and myself is here and we are bringing you a creation using the wonderful Hero Arts stamp, Dogwood.

I love the botanical look of stamps so when I was able to have this stamp in my hot hands I was delighted to be able to create cards with it. I was also excited when Jennifer and I decided to use it for this challenge.

100_4165

So taking this wonderful Dogwood stamp I stamped it twice onto white card stock and coloured one of the images in using my Copics and with the other image I only coloured the flowers. I cut each of the images out that were coloured and adhered the flowers on top of the other flowers with some foam dimensionals, I added some Glossy Accents to the centre of the flowers and set this aside to dry whilst I worked on the rest of the card. I took more white card stock and using the Hero Arts, Old Letter Writing stamp inked up with Antique Linen, Distress Ink, I stamped the entire white card stock. I distressed the edges of the card stock and inked over the edges using Brushed Corduroy, Distress Ink, I then attached the flower to the card stock using more foam dimensionals, adding a sentiment from the Hero Arts, Everyday Sayings stamp set under the flower and set this aside. I took pink card stock that was slightly larger then the white and distressed the edges of this and adhered each of the card stocks together. Using Kraft card stock to form the card, I added, yes you guessed it..LOL, white gel pen dots around the edge of the card and adhered the two pieces of card stocks to the card front. Lastly, I added some pink rhinestones to match and dusted the edges of the Kraft card stock with Colorbox Ink, Frost White to soften the card.

Here is another view of the card:

100_4166

A stamp to have in ones collection as it will always be one of those classic stamps that will never age with time.

Here are the products used to create this card:

So I am heading to Jennifer’s blog anyone want to join me?? Cannot wait to see her wonderful creation.

Looking forward to bringing you another challenge creation tomorrow.

Big Event! Day 4

Hi Everyone! So it is Day 4 with Jennifer and what fun week we are having so far, I am so enjoying seeing what she has created with the same stamp and to see all your wonderful comments, this is certainly one way to put a smile on ones face.

So today we create a card using the Hero Arts, Cuckoo stamp set, I love this unique set, it is such a versatile set that could be used to create female or male cards and I think that is value for money.

So you will find today that I am on a roll with using paper piecing and also using the white gel pen…LOL, I really did not do this on purpose it just seem to be the things that I happen to grab for and well before I knew it here was a card that was similar to what I had created before, but I gotta say I love how soft and pretty it turned out.

100_4172

I took the Basic Grey, Cappella 6 x 6 paper pad and using 4 different patterned papers, I stamped the large cuckoo clock onto each paper, I cut each section out that I wished to use and I adhered each section together and set aside. Next, taking some cream card stock to form a card, and the Hero Arts, Flourish background stamp, I inked it up with some Hero Arts, Soft Sand ink and stamped over the front of the card. I added dots using my white gel pen and taking the cuckoo stamp once again, I stamped it onto the front of the card. I then took the paper pieced clock and attached it to the clock that was stamped onto the card using foam dimensionals. Next, taking some white card stock I cut a piece that fit across the card and stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set, I adhered a piece of soft pink card stock that had been punched with the Ek Success, Scalloped Scallop border punch to the white card stock and then adhered this to the card.

Here is another view of the card:

So I hope that you enjoy the card and that you will forgive me for using the same background…LOL.

Big Event! Day 3

Hi Everyone! So Jennifer and I are back again to share with you Day 3 of our challenge together this time using the wonderful set from Hero Arts, Cupcakes. I mean who doesn’t love a cupcake??

100_4168

I wanted to create a card that had punches of colour and a creation that was fun to look at. So I started with pink card stock to form the card and on the front of the card I stamped the Hero Arts, Flourish background stamp that was inked with Hero Arts, Soft Pink, once this was stamped I set aside to dry. I took some white card stock and stamped a cutie of a cupcake twice and coloured it in with my Copics, adding a little white gel pen and also some Glossy Accents, I cut the image out and on the second coloured image I cut the flower out only and adhered it to the flower on the cupcake using foam dimensionals, then reached back for the card, whilst my white gel pen was still out, I added white dots to the front of the card for more added interest. I took more white card stock and cut a strip the length of the card, I also adhered some SEI, Happy Day patterned paper to the white strip and attached to the front of the card. I added a sentiment from the cupcake set and lastly added my cupcake using some foam dimensionals.

Here is another view of the card:

100_4170

I wanted to create a card that was very simple yet as I said before fun to look at with all the colour.

Birdies!

Hi Everyone! So if you have visited Jennifer's blog today you would have seen that today is a very important day and it is the Lawn Fawn Blog Hop for Cards for Kids, so we decided that we would skip a day so that this important event could take place, but stay tuned as we will be back again tomorrow with another creation for you all to feast your eyes on.

100_4409

So for tonight I wanted to share a card that I created with some more paper piecing. I have had the Hero Arts, Kiss from the Sun stamp set for awhile and have not inked it up yet, until now. I used a Hero Arts, Eggshell note card and stamped the Hero Arts, Graph Background that was inked with Hero Arts, Soft Sand and covered the front of the card. I cut a Spellbinder, Label 8 die and stamped the Hero Arts, Cloud stamp using some Hero Arts, Soft Pool ink over the die cut. Once this dried I took the branch with the birds on it, the branch and the bird house from the Kiss from the Sun stamp set and stamped them onto the die cut and whilst these stamps were out I stamped the bird house and the birds on the branch onto some SEI, Happy Day patterned paper. The birds and the bird house were cut out and set aside. I took my Copic markers an coloured the branches and leaves in on the die cut and then took each patterned paper images that were cut out and adhered them on the ones that were stamped onto the die cut using some foam dimensionals. I added a sentiment from the Hero Arts, Mi Casa stamp set and attached the die cut to the front of the card using more foam dimensionals. Lastly, I added some white string to the base of the card to tie it altogether.

Big Event! Day 2

Hi Everyone! So it is day 2 of the challenge between Jennifer and myself and I have to say that this has started out to be a really fun experience, I felt like a kid last night at Christmas time waiting in anticipation for the big reveal of Jennifer’s card and WOW! what a card it was, that girl certainly knows how to create a masterpiece and one that draws you right in with all it’s delicate features, so if you still have not had the chance to check it out you can do so HERE.

I also wanted to take the time to thank everyone for their wonderful comments both on Jennifer’s blog and mine, I am so glad that this is inspiring you all and that you are enjoying what we are bringing to you, I hope that you will enjoy today’s blog post and again I will act like a kid and wait again to see what my wonderful friend has created.

So tonight we bring to you a card created using the Hero Arts, What’s Cooking Stamp set:

100_4180

When I created my card I decided that it was time to delve in and start using my patterned paper that has been sitting and sitting in my collection and not being used so I took the Apron from this set and stamped it first onto some white card stock that was cut to size and then onto some patterned paper from October Afternoon ( I think that this companies paper truly has to be my favourite right now, just love it) I cut the apron out and adhered it to the apron that had been stamped onto white card stock using some foam dimensionals, I also stamped the pockets another piece of October Afternoon patterned paper and cut them out and adhered them onto the apron also. I took Copic Sketch Pens and coloured the hearts and the ties in on the apron to match. Next, taking the sentiment from the set I stamped it at the bottom of the white card stock and set aside. I took more October Afternoon patterned paper and cut a piece slightly larger then the white card stock and adhered each of these together using more foam dimensionals. To form the card, I cut some Kraft card stock to size, folded in half and using the Hero Arts, Cling Dot background stamp I inked it up with some Colorbox Ink, Frost White and covered the entire front of the card, once this had dried I adhered the other card stock and patterned paper to the front of the card using foam dimensionals.

A great way to use up patterned paper that you have on hand and paper piece images, really fun!

So now I am off to check out Jennifer’s blog and see what wonderful and inspiring creation she has created today, why not follow me :)

I also thought that I would change the way I do blog posting, I have seen a number of blogs that show some if not all of the products that they use to create their project and I felt that this is such a wonderful idea that I thought it would be fun to start this on my blog, so here are some of the products that I used to create this card:

Big Event!

Hi Everyone! So I have big, exciting news, this weeks blog posts I will be doing something a little special. I will be sharing the week with Jennifer McGuire, we have decided to show case 6 cards together, using 6 different stamps. I am super, super excited about this event and I could not be more honoured to have this opportunity to do this.

I have been a great admirer of Jennifer, who inspires me every time she creates, she is a truly wonderful, kind hearted and generous person, one in which I am grateful is a part of my life.

I hope that we inspire others out there this week to create and have fun!

The first card I will be sharing with you today shows one of the techniques that Jennifer uses in some of her creations, which is emboss resist.

100_4469

I took the stamp Flowing Flowers and Leaves from Hero Arts and stamped it onto several pieces of white card stock using Versamark Ink, I then embossed with clear embossing powder. Once this was embossed I took Ranger, Distress Ink, Barn Door, Wild Honey, Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutters and covered each piece of the white embossed card stock heavily with each of the inks. I took a 1 inch Fiskars circle punch and punched several circles out of each colour. Next, taking more white card stock, I cut it to size, folded in half to form a card and using the Score Pal I scored 3 lines down one side of the card. I adhered each of the punched out circles down the other side of the card using some foam dimensionals and with some left over white card stock I cut a tag and stamped a sentiment from the Hero Arts, Leaf Prints stamp set and adhered this to the card using more foam dimensionals. Lastly, I added some rhinestones either side of the sentiment to finish the card.

A card that is quite simple to make and even though a lot of white, the punch of colour makes the card quite eye catching, so don’t be afraid to use white, there is so much that you can do with it.

Okay, so make sure that you all go on over to Jennifer's Blog and check out what she has created with this wonderful stamp.

I look forward to the week ahead with Jennifer and with you my fellow bloggers and stampers.

Hugs to you all!

Rainy Day!

Hi Everyone! So today's card seems to be appropriate as it has been raining here all day. I created a card using another digital image, this one was also from The Greeting Farm called Rain Rain.

100_4464

So I downloaded the image and resized it to the size that I was after, I printed it out onto some white card stock and coloured the image in using my Copics, once the image was coloured I cut her out and set her aside. I took more white card stock and ran it through my Cuttlebug, cutting a circle using the Spellbinders, Circles die. I then inked up the Hero Arts, Graph Background stamp with Hero Arts, Soft Pool ink and stamped over the top of the circle. Taking the coloured image I adhered her to the circle using some foam dimensionals. Next, taking some American Crafts patterned paper (which has been in my collection for I don't know how long..LOL) I cut it to size and sewed around the edges, I also took some Ranger, Distress Ink, Tumbled Glass and distressed the edges, I also decided to add some distress ink to the outer edges of the circle as well, I then added a sentiment at the bottom of the patterned paper using the Hero Arts, Sweet Wonderful You stamp set. I then took more white card stock and cut it to size and folded in half to form the card, lastly, I adhered the round circle with the image on it to the patterned paper using more foam dimensionals and then adhered the patterned paper to the front of the card.

Here is another view of the card:

100_4463

I really enjoyed making this card tonight and I hope it inspires you out there to have a go at using some digital stamps.

So that is about all for tonight, but before I go I wanted to let you know to pop back here tomorrow and check out the big event that will be starting tomorrow, looking forward to bringing you a surprise :)

Have a great night!

Girl with Bird and Video!

Hi Everyone! So how is your weekend going? I have had a good day, caught up on a few things and spent some time in the craft room, as any crafter would do, LOL!

So I have another Pure Innocence image to share with you tonight, this little girl with bird I downloaded from the wonderful illustrator, Heather Ellis's web site, she is currently having a sale on her digital images, so I quickly jumped at the chance to grab these sweet designs as they are being discontinued. I may even go back to get more yet...hee,he.

100_4452

So I downloaded the image and resized it to the size that I required and printed it out on my white card stock, I coloured the image in with my Copics and cut the image to size. I cut a piece of Hero Arts, Punch layering paper slightly larger then the image and adhered together, I then cut a piece of October Afternoon patterned paper and also adhered this to the image. For the card I cut a piece of Kraft card stock, folded in half and attached the image to the front using some foam dimensionals. Next, I added a Hero Arts sentiment from the Huge Hugs stamp, I then felt that the card needed something else and so I decided to add stamped flowers under the sentiment, I stamped this with some Colorbox Ink, Frost White. Lastly, I sponged more Frost White ink around the edges of the card to soften.

Here is another view of the card:

A sweet image that is quite good to have in your collection, as you can size it to what you wish, so make sure you check out Heather's site and maybe download a few sweet images for yourself.

So I also decided to share with you all tonight a little video showing what I purchased at the Craft Show that I attended last week and also a little Copic haul that arrived yesterday. Unfortunately, my camera does not have auto focus so you cannot read the numbers on the Copics, but I do tell you what numbers I purchased.

Well I am off to catch up on the net a little and possibly work on another project in the craft room.

Hugs!

Keeping In Touch!

Hi Everyone! So I wanted to share my card that was featured on the Social Club over at the Hero Arts Blog, the new competition for the month of August is called Keeping In Touch, Back to School and Stationary Sets. So us Hostesses got together and created cards for the theme Keeping In Touch and decided to use butterflies on our cards. Here is what I created:

Cut white card to form a card, cover the front of the card with patterned paper from the October Afternoon, Farm Fresh paper. Once covered, cut a small strip of patterned paper from the Cherry Hill paper pad and adhere to the base of card. Next, punch a cream circle and stamp the Artists Butterfly over the top and set aside. Still with the same Artists Butterfly stamp, stamp two times onto white card stock and colour in with Copics, making sure to colour one in completely and the other just the inner parts of the wings. Cut each of the coloured images out, adhere the fully coloured image to the one that was stamped onto the circle of card stock with some Glossy Accents. Next, adhere the inner parts of the wings that were coloured in to the main image using more Glossy Accents, then attach the circle to the card using foam dimensionals. Take a sentiment from the Hero Arts, Thank You Sayings set and stamp above the patterned paper at the bottom of the card. Lastly, add some rhinestones to match to finish the card.

My fellow Hostess sisters have made some incredible creations, you can view them all HERE.

Enjoy viewing the card!

I hope that you all enjoy your day and that your weekend gets off to a great start.

Teachers Card

Hi Everyone! How has everyone's day been today? I had the day off from work today and spent most of the day in the craft room creating and downloading more digital images, I never thought that I would ever use digital images, but I stand corrected, I feel that there is a place for them in my crafting world.

For today though I have created a card for the August theme competition over at Hero Arts. I felt that the card that I created could be given to a teacher, so goes with the theme of Back to School.

I started with Kraft card stock, cut to size, folded in half to form a card, then taking the Hero Arts, Large Canvas Stripe Background stamp, I inked it up with some Colorbox Ink, Frost White and covered the entire front of the card, I set this aside to dry. Next, taking some white card stock and the Hero Arts, Ledger stamp I inked the stamp up with some Hero Arts, Soft Sand and stamped onto the white card stock, I cut a section out of the ledger image and punched along one side using the EK Success, Binding Edge border punch, once the edge was punched I took some Ranger, Distress Ink, Antique Linen and dusted the edges of the card stock. I then took the Hero Arts, Owl Trio and stamped an owl directly onto the ledger image and also onto some October Afternoon patterned paper, I cut the owl out of the patterned paper and added some Copic colouring onto the owl, then attached to the owl on the ledger image using some foam
dimensionals. I added a sentiment to the bottom of the ledger image from the Hero Arts, Everyday Sayings and also some stamped numbers from the Hero Arts, Bird Branch Alphabet to the ledger image. Next, I added another strip of October Afternoon patterned paper down the punched side of the ledger image and adhered it to the front of the card using more foam dimensionals.

So I hope that this gives you some inspiration to enter the latest competition.

Speaking of competitions, don't forget to head over to Scrapbook Boutique and enter the competition that is going on over there, this is however only for Australian Residents.

So I hope you enjoy your night, I am off to get some tea and relax for the night.
