Slicing It!!!!

Hello Everyone! Sorry for the absence, I had to work all weekend and by the time I got home from work, I just had no energy to create or at least the creative flow was out of action. Also Darryl hurt his eye, so have been slightly worried about that too, but after tomorrow hopefully his eye will start to be a bit better, once a return visit to the Doctors.

So tonight I wanted to share another card that I created for Purple Onion Designs, this stamp is kinda funky and fun.

100_3649

I started with cream card stock, cut to size, folded in half and using my Cuttlebug, I ran the front of the card through the machine, embossing it with the Sizzix, Hello Friend embossing folder, I set this aside. I then took the Citrus Set and stamped the full citrus image two times onto some white card stock. I coloured both images in, once coloured in I cut one of the full images out and with the other image I cut each wedge of the citrus out and matched and adhered each wedge onto the full coloured image with some foam dimensionals. Next, I took some orange card stock and punched a small strip using my Fiskars, Scalloped Scallop border punch, I then adhered this to some white card stock. I adhered the coloured image to the top of the white card stock with some foam dimensionals and also stamped the sentiment from the same Citrus Set at the bottom of the white card stock. Lastly, I some pearls to match and adhered the white card stock to the embossed card with more foam dimensionals.

Here is another view of the card.

Little Girl Card

Hi Everyone! Well it is raining here today and it is such a nice day to stay inside and snuggle up in front of the fire.

Before I get into the details of today's card, I wish to thank everyone for their wonderful sweet comments about my first ever technique video, it was so nice to hear all the encouraging comments and I am so pleased that this video has inspired you to go and give the technique a go. So thank you to you all. :)

So today's card is a little birthday card that I have made for my friend, one of her friends little girl is turning one.

100_3941

I started with pink card stock, cut to size, folded in half and using my Cuttlebug, I ran the front of the card through the machine, embossing the front using the Sizzix, Dots and Flowers embossing folders collection, thus using the flowers folder. I then proceeded to cut a die cut using a Spellbinders, Labels 1. Next, I took my Hero Arts, Clouds Background stamp and stamped over the top of the die cut with some Colorbox Ink, Swell, Cape Cod. I then took some white card stock and using the grass stamp from the Hero Arts, Be Happy stamp set I stamped the grass, masking each time I stamped, after I stamped the grass I coloured it in with my Copics and cut out. Next, I adhered the grass to the bottom of the die cut. With another piece of white card stock I stamped Hero Arts, Girl Holding Flowers and coloured her in with my Copics and cut her out, I then adhered her to the die cut with some foam dimensionals. Lastly, I added a sentiment from Hero Arts, Cupcakes to the top of the die cut to finish the card.

Here are some more views of the card.

My First Technique Video

Hi Everyone! So today started out with a knock at my door and a wonderful parcel being delivered to me, I received some goodies that I have been waiting on from Scrapbook Boutique, I always find that it is such a nice way to start the day, brings a smile to ones face.

So I decided to share a video on what I received, but I also have another little share for you and I have created my very first technique video for you all to look at. My camera is very basic so it probably did not capture the technique well, but it is okay. I had so many wonderful comments on the water coloured technique card that I created the other day, that I thought I would share a video showing how I produced it.

This technique I first saw over at Ellen Hutson's Classroom, Kim Hughes had produced a set of cards using this technique, although slightly different version to mine. I used what I had available to me in my craft room and produced a different spin on the technique.

So sit back and enjoy both videos and don't forget to leave me some feedback as to how you think I went and if you have any questions then ask away and I will try to answer them as best as I can.

So first up here is the link to the card to jog your memory.

Now for the little haul video.

You can also view these videos and others over on my Youtube channel, so why not go over and leave me a comment over there.

Have a wonderful day and I will catch you all tomorrow with a card.

Emboss Resist

Hello Everyone! How is your Wednesday going? I cannot wait to finish work tonight and have two days off work and play in the craft room, with so many goodies that have arrived this week and another box arriving hopefully tomorrow with some more goodies that I will be sharing on another video. Also, if I can manage it, I am hoping to share a technique video for you, this will be my first so could be a little shaky, LOL.

So I wanted to share another card that I designed for Purple Onion Designs, but first I wanted to welcome another designer to the team, if you follow the Hero Arts Flickr group you will know this wonderful, talented and inspiring lady. Her name is Jill Foster, yes you read it right, Jill Foster, I was so happy to see that Michele had asked her to join the team, her work is so incredible and so creative, so congrats Jill and cannot wait to take this venture with you. So why not pop over to Purple Onion Designs and check out what she has created and leave her a sweet message.

Now onto the card that I designed.

100_3644

I started with kraft card stock, cut to size, folded in half and set aside. I then took a piece of water colour paper, stamped the single stem flower three times, making sure to mask each time I stamped and embossed with American Crafts, Zing, White Embossing powder. Once embossed I took Ranger, Distress Ink, Tumbled Glass, Rusty Hinge and Shabby Shutters and proceeded to layer the colours on heavily over the embossing, hence creating the embossed resist. Once I was happy with the colours I took my Ranger, Mini Mister and spritzed the water colour paper with water until the colours started to run together, and as I am impatient I heat set this with my heat gun. I stamped the sentiment You're The Best at the top of water coloured paper. I took my scissors and distressed the edges of the water coloured paper and using Ranger, Distress Ink, Brushed Corduroy I inked the edges of the distressing. Lastly, I added some pearls to match and adhered to the front of the card with some foam dimensionals.

A really fun technique that can be used with so many stamps, especially the fun silhouette designs that Purple Onion Designs have. So why not go and check them out and buy some wonderful stamps to create your own wonderful creations.

Hope you all have a wonderful day, and I will be back tomorrow with another card and possibly a video for you to feast your eyes on.

Hugs.

Vellum Flower

Hi! Everyone, how is your evening? We are starting to receive some rain, which is wonderful as we are desperate for it, so I hope it continues all night and tomorrow.

So today I wanted to share a flower that I made using Betsy Veldmans technique, I was so delighted in the way this flower turned out and was so fun to make. So thanks for the tutorial Betsy.

100_3756

I started with white card stock, cut to size, folded in half and set aside. I took another strip of white card stock and ran it through my Cuttlebug and embossed it with the Jamara embossing folder. Next, I cut a small strip of pink card stock and punched a border with a Fiskars, Upper Crest border punch and adhered it to the embossed white card stock, I then adhered this to the base of the white card. I then moved onto making the flower, I punched 8 two inch scalloped circles out of vellum and changed the colour using some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Pink Taffy and heat set with my heat gun, I then folded the scalloped circles in half, then in half again and again. I punched a one and three quarter inch circle and covered it with high tack glue, I then took the folded vellum and adhered it to the circle until all of the circle was covered, I added a stitched brad to the centre of the flower and set aside. Next, I stamped a leaf from the Hero Arts, Leaf Prints onto some green patterned paper, I cut them out and adhered to the back of the flower. I then adhered the flower to the embossed white card stock. Lastly, I added a Papertrey Ink sentiment to the top of the card and some pearls.

Here are more views of the card.

Birthday Card and Video Share

Hello Everyone! I hope that you have all enjoyed your weekend as much as I have. We have had some beautiful weather, although a little nippy. I have been able to catch up with all of my washing and also got to do some crafting.

I spent sometime Saturday night searching the net and checking out blogs and some new techniques, one caught my eye that Kim Hughes had done for Ellen Hutson's Classroom, she made several cards but this was my favourite. I loved the out come of the card and decided to try and have a go with what I had and see if it worked and well I have to say that I was pretty happy with the end result. My card was made slightly different to Kim's and still turned out okay.

100_3752

I cut kraft card stock to size and folded in half and set aside. I then took some white card stock and cut it slightly smaller then the card front. Next I took some Ranger, Distress Ink, Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutters and put some of the inks onto my craft sheet, next I spritzed it with some water and took my Hero Arts, Starburst Lace stamp and as if I was stamping on the craft sheet I stamped over the spritzed ink, grabbing colour, then stamped down onto the white card stock making sure not to press too hard. Once I had stamped the first time I then placed my stamp in the ink again and restamped, I did this until the whole white card stock was covered. It does not matter if the whole stamped images overlap this gives to the overall effect. I then heat set the stamped white card stock and set aside. Next, I took another piece of white card stock and cut a small strip, I stamped a Hero Arts sentiment from the Birthday Sayings stamp set and adhered this to the starburst lace card stock. I took my Ranger, Distress Ink, Brushed Corduroy and inked the edges of the card stock. Lastly, I added some rhinestones under the sentiment and attached to the front of the card with some foam dimensionals.

Here is another view of the card.

100_3755

I really fun technique to do and yet really effective.

I also have another surprise for you today and I am sharing another video a sneek peak into my craft room again. Darryl, has made this wonderful storage centre for my card stock and my Copics. I cannot wait to have my room painted out to share the whole room with you in one video.

I hope you enjoy today's card and video and if you wish to view all of my videos you can pop over to my Youtube channel and view them, oh and would be great if you could leave me a message over there if you like.

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend and I will be back tomorrow with another card.

Hugs for now.

Anniversary Card

Hi Everyone! WOW! am I glad that it is Friday and that my day has finished at work, now it is play time in the craft room and getting my house in order, maybe a little R&R as well.

So tonight I have another card to share with you that I designed for Purple Onion Designs.

100_3636

I started with white card stock and using my Cuttlebug, I cut 2 Spellbinders, Label 8 dies. On one side of the Label 8 die cut I stamped Late 1800's Script Background stamp with some Colorbox Ink, Rain forest, Celadon. Then taking the blue damask patterned paper from the My Minds Eye, Lush Collection I cut another Label 8 die cut, I cut this in half and adhered it to the bottom of white card stock, Label 8 die cut. Next, I made a poofy flower (I learnt how to make this wonderful flower through the talented Dawn McVey's blog). I cut a small white strip of card stock and stamped a sentiment from the Mini Sentiments stamp set. I adhered the strip, slightly over lapping the patterned paper to cover the join. Next, I adhered the poofy flower to the other side of the sentiment and a rhinestone at the end of the sentiment. Lastly, I adhered small strips of white card stock on the inside of the Label 8 die cuts to form the card.

Hope you enjoy tonight's card and that you take the time to pop over the either the website or the blog and take a look or maybe even buy some great products.

Have a wonderful night and I will catch you all tomorrow.

Hugs.

Pretty in Pink!

Hello Everyone! Well back is feeling a lot better today, which is a great thing, I am also hoping that it never happens again.

Well here today is a very simple card.

100_3735

I started with white card stock, cut to size, folded in half and set aside. Next I took some patterned paper from the My Minds Eye, Quite Contrary collection, I think it is called Best Friends. I cut this slightly smaller then the card front and adhered it with some foam dimensionals. Onto a piece of white card stock I stamped a flower from the Hero Arts, Color Me Flower stamp set twice and coloured in with my Copics, once this was coloured in I cut the two flowers out, one being the whole flower and the other just the centre piece of the flower. Next, I took some more white card stock and cut a piece that was slightly smaller then the patterned piece of paper and stamped the flower once again onto this, I then coloured the image in and adhered both the flower and flower centre with some foam dimensionals to this. I added a pink ribbon to the bottom of the white card stock, above the ribbon I stamped a sentiment from the Hero Arts, Birthday Sayings stamp set and lastly, I added some pink rhinestones to the outer parts of the flower and some more pink rhinestones to some more parts of the white card stock.

Here are some more views of the card.

Birthday Girl!

Hi Everyone! Sorry about not posting over the last couple of days, what with work and then I ended up with a pinched nerve in my back, which was rather debilitating, I found that I could not do any posting. But I had a massage yesterday and my masseur removed the pinched nerve and although tender in a few places, I am feeling so much better. So back to posting again.

So today's card I made a about a week ago for my friend, she has asked me to make 10 cards for her, so this is one of them.

100_3726

I started with white card stock, folded in half and took Papertrey Ink, Polka Dot Basic 2 and stamped a row of polka dots at the bottom of the card with some Colorbox Ink, Papaya Cream, I set this aside to dry. Next, I stamped a little girl from the Hero Arts, Sweet Wonderful You stamp set onto some white card stock and coloured in with my Copics. Once coloured in I cut her out and adhered her to the card with some foam dimensionals. I added a pink ribbon to the top of the stamped polka dots and a stamped sentiment from the Hero Arts, Birthday Sayings above the ribbon. Lastly, I added some rhinestones to the card as added interest and an American Crafts, Thicker number 1 as this little girl is turning 1.

Here are some more photos of the card.

Joining DT Team for Purple Onion Designs

Hi Everyone! So I am back with something special to share with you. As the title of this blog post says, I have joined the design team for Purple Onion Designs. Hydrangea

Hi Everyone! Well it is Wednesday here and when I finish work tonight I have 2 days off, so looking forward to that, hopefully some crafting will be done.

So I have another card to share that I made for the wonderful company Scrapbook Boutique last week for the Mothers Day lead up, but really you could use this card for birthdays etc.

100_3620

I started with white card stock, cut to size, folded in half and ran the front of the card through my Cuttlebug, embossing the front using the Sizzix, Hello Friend embossing folder, I set this aside. I then stamped the Hero Arts, Hydrangea onto some more white card stock, coloured the image in with my Copics and cut the image out. Next, I cut a piece of purple card stock and a slightly smaller piece of white card stock and created a tag, I stamped the Hero Arts, Valentine Sayings sentiment onto the tag and adhered the tag and the hydrangea image to the front of the card with some foam dimensionals. Lastly, I had some pearls that were not quite the right colour to match the image, so I coloured over the top of them with my Copic to change the colour that I needed and attached them to the front of the card and tag.

Here are some more views of the card.

Sewing Machine

Hi Everyone! Back with you today to share another card, but first I do hope that you all liked yesterday's video, I am sure that most of you have seen a lot of the things that I had brought, but I just thought that I would share.

So today's card I had created for Scrapbook Boutique, one for Mothers Day.

100_3591

I started with cream card stock, cut to size, folded in half and set aside. I took some white card stock and cut a sewing machine image out on my Silhouette Machine, once the image was cut I inked up the Hero Arts, Dots and Flowers background stamp with some Ranger, Distress Ink, Spun Sugar, spritzed with some water and stamped over the sewing machine image, once this was dry I distressed some more parts of the sewing machine with the same ink, set this aside to dry further. I then took 3 sheets of text paper and with the Fiskars, Scalloped Sentiment border punch I punched the 3 sheets of text paper, (I have seen this technique on Dawn McVey's blog). I then took my Ranger, Distress Ink, Antique Linen and lightly dusted the sheets of text paper, I adhered each layer to the cream card with some foam dimensionals, I attached a pink ribbon above the text paper and adhered the sewing machine to the top of the card with foam dimensionals. Lastly, I added a sentiment just above the pink ribbon using Hero Arts, Valentine Sayings stamping it with some Colorbox Ink, Muted Moods, Antique Pewter, and some pearls to add another interest to the card.

Here is another view of the card.

100_3590

I do hope that this card gives you some inspiration as to what you can achieve with your Silhouette Machine.

Looking forward to seeing you all back here tomorrow.

Have a great night.

Starburst Lace

Afternoon Everyone! Firstly, just want to wish all the Mothers out there a very Happy Mothers Day, including my Mum and Darryl's Mum. I do hope that you have all enjoyed your day.

Feeling rather weary today, I spent a long night in the craft room creating, and had a rotten sleep so today not much is getting done around here....LOL.

So whilst I was making the card yesterday I decided to also use another one of my new stamps and create with some more distress inks.

100_3614

I started with white card stock, cut to size and folded in half. Next I took my Hero Arts, Friend Definition stamp and stamped over the front of the card with some Colorbox Ink, Muted Moods, Antique Pewter, I set this aside to dry. I then took some water coloured paper and stamped the Hero Arts, Starburst Lace with some Versamark Ink and embossed it with some American Crafts, Zing, White embossing powder. I took some Ranger, Distress Ink, Barn Door, Rusty Hinge and Tumbled Glass and blended over the top of the embossed image. I took some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Pearl and spritzed over the top until the colours slightly blended together, and me being impatient I heat set the image. I cut around the Starburst Lace image and adhered to the front of the card with some foam dimensionals, adding a pearl to the centre as a added feature. Lastly, I added a sentiment to the top of the card using Hero Arts, Thoughtful Messages stamp set and some extra pearls to finish the card.

Here are some more views of the card.

100_3616

100_3615

I also wanted to add here a very big thank you to everyone that has taken the time to view my videos and make some sweet comments on my blog, I must say that Darryl is also excited about receiving lovely comments.

I have a couple of other photos to share with you today also. This morning I went for a walk around my garden and realised that the trees out the front of our house were in true Autumn colour, so could not resist in sharing this with you. The colours are amazing, just wished the photo reflected this.

Distress Ink Happiness

Hello everyone! Well it is the weekend here and it is so nice to be able to take the time to do some relaxing and crafting.

This morning I have caught up on a little of house work and also watched a few Youtube videos, namely Jennifer McGuire's that she did for Creating Keepsakes. After watching this wonderful video I was so inspired that I went into the craft room and decided to have a go at the technique that she used, with one of my new stamps that arrived yesterday. Although, with a slight twist.

100_3607

I started with cream card stock, cut to size, folded in half and set aside. I then took some water colour paper and measured a piece slightly smaller then the card front. I stamped the Hero Arts, Silhouette Grass with some Versamark Ink and embossed it with some American Crafts, Zing, White embossing powder. Next I took some Ranger, Distress Ink, Shabby Shutters, Wild Honey and Tumbled Glass and added the 3 colours heavily over the top of the stamped image. Now here comes the twist, Jennifer used Perfect Pearls in water, but I decided to use my Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Pearl, I sprayed quite a lot over the inked image so that the ink would start to run and that the paper was moist. I am impatient when it comes to drying (a bit like Jennifer is) so I heat set the paper with my heat gun. I then distressed the edges of the paper with my scissors and lightly inked the sides with some Ranger, Distress Ink, Tea Dye. I added a sentiment to the top of the stamped image, using Hero Arts, Essential Messages. Lastly, I added some pearls and added some foam dimensionals under the stamped image and attached to the front of the cream card.

Here are other photos of the card.

100_3606

I tried to show here the glimmer on the card, I hope that I captured it.

100_3610

I really had a lot of fun with this technique, so thanks Jennifer for sharing, this really made me smile today.

Well I do hope that you are all enjoying your weekend and I hope I will catch you all tomorrow.

Have a fun day everyone!

Something Fishy!

Hi Everyone! So today I finally got my Silhouette Machine and it's software loaded onto my new computer, had a go at it and I don't know, nothing seemed to gel at all, really not much at all flowed well today, hoping that the weekend will improve in the way of crafting......well that is my whine for the day!

So I bring you a card that I played with after tea tonight and finally something came together, although not a great card but I thought that the fish was cute.

100_3605

I started with kraft card stock cut it to size and folded in half, set aside. I then took a piece of white card stock and cut it slightly smaller then the card front, I took my foam blending tool and covered the entire white card stock with Ranger, Distress Ink, Tumbled Glass, I set this aside to dry. Whilst the card stock was drying I took some more white card stock and stamped the large fish from the Hero Arts, Oceans of Joy stamp set, I coloured the fish in with my Copics and cut the fish out. I took the piece of card stock that I had covered with distress ink and stamped some seaweed from the same stamp set with some Color Box Ink, Rainforest, Moss Green. I took the large fish again and stamped onto the distressed card stock and added the cut fish over the top with some foam dimensionals. I added some bubbles from the fish, coloured them in and put some Glossy Accents over the top. Lastly, I added a sentiment from the same stamp set and a googly eye to the fish, adhered the piece of card stock to the front of the kraft card with some foam dimensionals.

Enjoy the card and I will catch you all later!

Have a great night.

Sizzix Folder

Hi Everyone! Thought that I would share a card that was a very quick and easy card to make using one of my new embossing folders from Sizzix.

100_3472

I started with white card stock cut to size and folded in half, I ran the front of the card through my Cuttlebug, embossing the front of the card with Sizzix, Hello Friend embossing folder. Next I took some yellow card stock and used my Papertrey Ink, Polka Dot Basics 2 stamp set and stamped several rows of polka dots with some Colorbox Ink, Swell, Banana Custard. Once this was dry I punched a large flower out of the stamped card stock and using a piece of cream card stock I punched a smaller flower out, I placed a mini glue dot between the 2 flowers and adhered together. To finish the flower I adhered a red button for contrast on the centre of the flower. I then took my cream card stock and cut a large strip and a small strip of card stock, I stamped a sentiment from the Papertrey Ink, Signature Greetings stamp set with some Colorbox Ink, Chocolate & Blueberries, Charcoal onto the larger strip on card stock. I adhered both strips to the front of the card and lastly, I adhered the flower with a foam dimensional along with some added red pearls.

Here are some more views of the card.

Monster Fun

Evening Everyone! How is your weekend going? I had to work all day today, so no crafting as yet, but I am hoping to venture into the craft room shortly, if I am not too tired after blogging..LOL.

Today's card I played with more of my new crafting supplies, and made a card for a friends son. I hope that he likes it.

100_3469

I started with kraft card stock cut to size and folded in half, on the top half on the card I stamped Hero Arts, Raindrop background stamp with Versamark Ink and heat set and set the card aside. I then took a piece of white card stock and stamped a monster and balloons from the Hero Arts, Monster Fun stamp set, I coloured each stamped image in with my Copics and cut the images out. I cut a strip of patterned paper from the October Afternoon, The Thrift Shop 8 x 8 paper pad and a piece of white card stock. On the white card stock I stamped a sentiment from the Hero Arts, Monster Fun stamp set, I then adhered the patterned paper to the front of the kraft card and also adhered the white card stock. I added foam dimensionals to the monster and to the balloons and placed onto the card. Lastly, I added some hand drawn strings to the balloons and also a googly eye to the monster to finish the card.

Here are some other views of the card.
