Woolies

Morning all, are you all enjoying your weekend? I am loving it, have been able to catch up on a little sleep and do some crafting which I always like to do.

I am here posting this morning as I have to go and do some awful house work.........LOL, although if I do get some time later on I may be back to post again, lets just see how the day goes.

Today's card I couldn't resist another felt looking card..........LOL, sorry guys I just love them. This time I decided to use a woolie from Basic Grey's lemonade line. I started out with kraft card stock for the card base, I then cut a piece of pattern paper out of the lemonade collection, attatched it to a pink piece of card stock that was punched with the Fiskars upper crest border punch, glued both pieces to the kraft card added some white dots around the edges of the card and also from the woolie lady bug to the Hero Arts sentiment, lastly added some pink pearls to the top of the card.

So quick and easy to make. This seems to be one way that I am getting my stash of cards to grow, so will be handy to grab when I need one.

Hope you enjoy.

Have a great rest of the weekend, hope to swing by a little later.

Gift Card

Happy Saturday everyone! I do hope that the start of your weekend has been going good, we have had another warm day here today, but there is good news, our air conditioner has been fixed and even though it is hot outside at least it is cooler inside then the last few days without it. So I am very grateful.

Today's card, I decided that it was time to move on away from the felties, even though I really wanted to do another one.........LOL. I decided to make a small gift card that could be used on a present for Valentines Day.

I started with white card stock for the card base, stamped a little love heart tree from the Hero Arts adorable baby girl set in Memento Tuxedo black twice onto some scratch white card stock, coloured it with my copics. (Here is a photo of the copics that I used to colour the tree).

I then cut both trees out and mounted them both onto the white card, stamping a Hero Arts sentiment from the same adorable baby girl set at the bottom of the card and lastly added some red pearls underneath the sentiment to finish the card. (I have taken 2 photos of the card for you to see the dimension).

Just a little something different for Valentines Day.

This also gave me a chance to practice my technique with my copics, which I need so, so, so much more practice..........LOL.

Enjoy the card.

Hope to catch you all tomorrow. Have a great night.

Feltie Overload

Morning all, as my title says, overload with felties. I got on a roll with these little cards and loved them so much I decided that a series of cards would be a great thing.

Today's little card, I used a feltie duck from Sassafras Lass, I cut a piece of October Afternoon, Farm Fresh paper adhering it to a piece of green card stock punched with Fiskars upper crest border punch, attaching it to the card that is kraft card stock, drawing some white stitching lines around the top of the card and from the little duck to the Hero Arts sentiment.

I hope you enjoy today's card and that your Friday is a wonderful day, I know mine is because once I finish work, I have the weekend off, Yippie!!

Have a good one.

Another Feltie Card

Evening everyone. I hope that you have all had a great day, another sweltering day here again without any air conditioner, although all is not as bad as it seems, we are able to fix it so that is a blessing. I should have air conditioning again this weekend.

Tonight's card I decided to make another feltie card. I had to make a birthday card for a little girl for one of my friends at work, so I am hoping she likes this one or otherwise I will just make another card, as you do.

I used kraft card stock for card base, punched a strip of orange card stock with Fiskars scalloped sentiment border punch attached it to some October Afternoon, Farm Fresh paper then added it to the card base, used a white gel pen to add some white stitching lines around the top of the card and white stitching from the Sassafras Lass giraffe feltie to the Hero Arts sentiment, lastly I corner rounded the corners of the card with my corner chomper.

Very, very simple card and quick, which I needed seeing as it is so hot.

Enjoy your night everyone.

Feltie Card

Afternoon all, WOW! Very hot day here today and you wouldn't believe it our air conditioner died last night, so I am really hoping that Darryl can fix it tonight, because Roly and I have been sweltering in 38 degree weather today. Not liking it at all.

Just wanted to pop in with a quick card before heading off to work.

I have had little felties from Sassafras Lass for awhile and I just love them, so I decided to use the little elephant. I started with kraft cardstock as the base of the card, punched a small strip of blue cardstock with the fiskars upper crest border punch, then added a strip of October Afternoon Farm Fresh paper above that, glued both pieces to the kraft cardstock, added a white stitching line above both pieces of paper and cardstock, attatched the little feltie elephant, stamped a Hero Arts sentiment in the top corner and added some stitching lines from the elephants trunk to the sentiment to complete the card.

I thought he turned out quite sweet.

Hope you are all having a great day and just remember it is the middle of the week and not long to the weekend, YAY!

Personal Stamp Exchange

Morning Everyone, hope you are all enjoying your day off today.

Today's little card I worked on last night after the monochromatic card I made, I decided to have another go at the prismacolor pencils, I need a lot more practice to master this technique......LOL.

I used green cardstock as the base colour of the card, I then stamped in black ink a stamp that I have had for a long time which was a Personal Stamp Exchange stamp ( it is such a shame that this company is no longer around, they had the most amazing designs and quality was excellent) I cannot remember the name of this stamp, but when I find my old catalogue I will adjust the post to let you know. I call it the garden door.

Anyway, once I had stamped the image I coloured the image with the prismacolor pencils until I was satisfied with the end result, cut around the image and added dimensionals and attatched to the green card.

Just a great way to learn how to use the prismacolor pencils.

Hope you like what you see.

Have to go and get ready for work now, everyone have a great day.

Monochromatic

Afternoon All, as promised I have ventured into the craft room and made a card, what I call a monochromatic one. I was inspired by this layout from one of Jennifer Mcguire's cards, but I decided to do a slightly different spin on it.

I started with a white cardstock as the base, I then proceeded to get all of my background stamps from Hero Arts: design block tree, antique flower background, design block dots and flowers, design block flourish and old letter writing, along with Darkroom Door, dots background stamp, I inked each one up with Colorbox black ink and stamped onto some left over white cardstock that I had in my stash, each piece was then covered with clear embossing powder and heated. I punched circles out of the stamped images and mounted them onto my card. To add to the card I punched a butterfly out of black cardstock with a Martha Stewart punch attatching it to the bottom of the card to complete the rows of circles. Lastly, I stamped a Hero Arts sentiment at the bottom in black ink, added some black pearls and corner rounded the corners of the card.

Very plain but simple card and fun technique using different stamps.

I hope you like what you see.

Have a wonderful Monday night enjoy your Australia Day holiday tomorrow, think of me being at work.....LOL.

Slack

Happy Monday! I know! I have been away again for another 2 days, this time with a good excuse, I got the rotten wog that is going around and was sick for a couple of days, so I do apologise and I hope to have a card up for you this afternoon once I finish work, although it could be a late posting, but I promise to have one done today.

Have a great day and I will be back later.

MIA

Afternoon all, sorry about being MIA for the last couple of days, life just seemed to take over, what with work and having a friend come and visit yesterday, I just did not have the time to play in the craft room. Today a different story, although I struggled to get this card off the ground, what with being extremely hot today and my craft room not being the coolest place on days like today, I think that my brain just fried a little and was missing a gear to get going.........LOL, anyway I have managed to put one together for you all to have a look at.

I started with brown cardstock for base card, stamped Hero Arts clear designs dot flourishes stamp in Colorbox Ink, frost white in the corner of the brown card, punched a strip of pink cardstock with Martha Stewarts double scallop punch, glued that to the bottom of the card added one of the poofy flowers that I made out of text paper from an old book (thanks Dawn McVey for this little flower), added dimensionals under the flower placed it to one side of the pink cardstock, stamped a sentiment on a piece of white cardstock added dimensionals to this and placed it under the poofy flower, lastly added some pink bling for some added effect.

Hope you enjoy!

Have a great Friday night, think of me tomorrow having to go to work........LOL.

Butterfly Card

Hello everyone. Hope you are all enjoying your Tuesday night. My day was quite productive, busy at work then came home and had a bit of downtime watching the movie "Charlie & Boots", anyone seen this movie? Talk about laugh so hard all the way through it, just loved this movie and cannot wait to watch it again, anyone wanting to watch it, it is so worth it. After watching the movie I popped into the craft room to whip up tonight's card, hope you like.

I decided to use a Bella chipboard butterfly that I have had for sometime and like last nights card never really knew how to use it on a card, but at last it came to me late last night, so I went back into my craft room after blogging the last card to you, to sketch a design of what I thought I wanted it to turn out. It did however turn out a little different to the sketch, but I am happy with the end result.

I started with some brown cardstock as the card base, then cut a small piece of white cardstock for the chipboard butterfly to sit on and two small pieces of aqua cardstock punched with the fiskars scalloped sentiment punch. I decided that the white piece of cardstock was too stark and inked up the Hero Arts old letter writing background stamp with Distress Ink, brushed corduroy, stamping it once onto some scrap paper to take some of the excess ink off, then proceeded to stamp onto the white cardstock. I felt that it gave the butterfly a more defining look. I attatched the butterfly to the inked white cardstock added two high of dimensionals from Stampin Up to the white cardstock, attatching the aqua cardstock to the edges then added one dimensionals high underneath these to give the difference in height, I then attatched this to the brown card.

I stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts everyday sayings in Colorbox, frost white, around two sides of the card and finished off the card by adding some white dots to the aqua pieces of cardstock.

As I mentioned before I was really happy with the card, lets face it who dosen't like butterflies, they are so pretty.

Hope you all have a great evening, hope to catch you all tomorrow.

Cheery Card!

Hello, sorry about the late posting again tonight, I made a card earlier, but was not happy with it, so decided to leave it and go get tea organised and have another go later on, that seemed to work because this card I am happy with. I am sure we all have days like that.

Anyway, onto tonight's card, I have had some Heidi Grace, Sweetest Bug Icons stamps for sometime and never really knew what to do with them, then tonight I decided to have a proper go at the prismacolor pencils that I have had sitting in my craft room.

I stamped the image in black, coloured the image in with the prismacolor pencils, corner rounded the coloured image, added some blending of Papertrey Ink aqua mist for sky and spring moss for some grass, mounted it to the purple card, added a Hero Arts sentiment at the bottom of card and corner rounded the card to match the image.

This is a lovely bright card to cheer anyone up.

Hope you like what you see tonight and have a great night.

Back tomorrow to check in with you all again.

Birthday Card

Evening everyone. As promised back with another card tonight. I had to make this for my friend so that she is able to give it to a lady that is turning 60 this coming weekend.

I was finding it very hard to come up with inspiration, so once again I turned to Jennifer McGuire for this, I remembered a video that she made on crease and sand, so I thought what a great idea.

My card, I stamped in a darker pink, dots and flowers background stamp from Hero Arts onto a pink Hero Arts card (to do crease and sand you need to have a core white card). I then proceeded to score along the lines and fold, then sand each one back to reveal the core. I inked the core lines with Distress Ink, tattered rose and antique linen, then glued the pink cardstock onto some kraft cardstock to give it more stability. Once mounted onto the cream card from Hero Arts I then added some pink bling, flowers, brad, twine and sentiment to finish the card off.

Great technique that Jennifer provided, one in which I had not tried before but had extreme fun with. So thanks Jennifer for your inspiration, I hope that the lady likes the card.

Enjoy your night everyone and I will catch you all tomorrow.

Poofy flower project

Hi everyone! I hope that you are enjoying what is left of your weekend. As you know from my posts yesterday, I got to spend sometime in the craft room, I am hoping to be able to do that again this afternoon, just wanted to show you what I made with one of the poofy flowers that I constructed yesterday.

I decided to make a post it note holder, most of you have probably seen these from time to time on various blogs, my first viewing of one of these was on Kerry's Paper Crafts blog, she makes some really great projects.

As we had run out of plain old notebooks to write on in our kitchen I decided to make a post it note holder for us and use my little poofy flower. All I did for this project was find a small document or photo holder (these are hard to find at cheaper prices, so if anyone knows where to get them could you leave a comment and let me know, I would be very grateful) I cut a piece of light pink cardstock to fit inside, stamped all over it with Inque Boutique Monarch stamp set in colorbox ink muted moods, velvet, slipped it inside the document holder, stamped a little sentiment that was stuck under the poofy flower, then attatched it to the top of the document holder and added the post it note. (Unfortunately, I had not noticed that I did not place the post it note on straight, but seeing as it was just for us, I wasn't going to mind too much).

There you have it, very simple yet great gift for either yourself or for someone else.

I will be back again later with hopefully another card.

Enjoy your Sunday.

Poofy Flowers

Hi Again. Just playing around in the craft room and decided to have a go at Dawn McVey's poofy flowers, I don't at this point posses any text paper (I need to get some), so I decided to use some of my double sided pattern paper to make these lovely little flowers. I also gave them a spritz with pearl Glimmer Mist, this was my first time using the mist and I absolutley love it, cannot wait to get my hands on some more. I just added a little button to the centre and all I need to do now is add it to a card.

This polka dot one is my favourite.

They are so sweet and easy to make, so thanks Dawn for showing how to make these.

Set of 3

Hi and happy Saturday. I have just spent the last couple of hours in the craft room having fun with my Papertrey Ink stamps. I loved my little bird card that I made the other night, so I decided to make another 3 that were similar.

They are all pretty self explanatory so I won't bore you with the details of how they have been made, if you are wishing to know, just scroll down to the yellow bird one and you will get the general idea of how they have been put together.

I think my favourite out of this set has to be the purple balloon one. Maybe it is me, I just like purple.

I still am unsure about the little cherry one, not sure about the ribbon I think, still looks okay but undecided..........LOL.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend, hope to be back either later with another post or tomorrow.

Bye for now.

Late Post!

Evening everyone. Sorry about the late posting today, I have been really busy cleaning the house, so that I can have the time in the craft room this weekend. Also lack of sleep last night causing me to start late on the house cleaning. Anyway, nearly all done.

I was also amazed that I managed to fit in making a card for tonight's posting. I got to break out my Everyday Button Bits stamp set from Papertrey Ink, I have had these for quite some time and haven't really had the chance to use them, so I was really excited when this little card came together. I thought that you could use it for Valentines Day or even a little baby card.

I used some Papertrey Ink lemon tart cardstock as the card base, stamped Darkroom Door dots background stamp in versamark ink on bottom of the card, embossed it with clear embossing powder, set it aside. I then cut out a piece of SBB white Cardstock from Scrapbook Boutique, with Spellbinder lables 8 die, leaving the die attached to the cardstock, I blended some Papertrey Ink aqua mist for sky and spring moss for the grass. I proceeded to stamp Everyday Button Bits, birds from Papertrey Ink, in Memento Tuexedo black ink and added Basic Grey lemonade buttons for their bodies, Kaisercraft pearls for their eyes, stamped two little wings in a colorbox ink, bisque, attatched all pieces together and placed Stampin Up dimensionals to image and sentiment before being placed on the card base, lastly corner rounded the card with We R Memory Keepers corner chomper to match the spellbinder die and added some little glitter hearts from Heidi Grace signature heart accents.

Most of all products used apart from Papertrey Ink and Stampin Up, were brought through Scrapbook Boutique, great website!

I thought that this little card turned out quite sweet.

I hope that you have enjoyed looking at today's card and that you get to relax for the rest of the evening.

Male Card

Hello and happy Wednesday. The middle of the week, YAY! Isn't it a great feeling, the weekend is fastly approaching which I am loving as I am off this weekend. So that means time in the craft room to play with all my goodies that I got the other day.

Onto today's card. A male card, how many times do we struggle to make one of these cards, well at least I do, so when the lovely Jennifer McGuire showed how to use alcohol inks in the tutorials on Thinking Inking I saw a great opportunity to make, hence, a male card using this technique.

This card is also on Scrapbook Boutique's Blogspot, I have placed a tutorial on there of how this card came together so if you are wanting the instructions pop over and take a look.

I had a lot of fun with this technique.

Short post today, will catch you all tomorrow. Have a great Wednesday!

Owl Card

Hello All. I hope that you are enjoying your Tuesday, ours again is very hot and I cannot wait for the change in weather to arrive, whenever that will be........LOL. Okay enough winging about the weather, onto todays card as I promised you last night.

I made this little owl card sometime ago, when I started guest designing for Scrapbook Boutique, it was my very first card made from the silhouette machine, and as you know I just love owl cards......LOL. This card I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire, when she was making her video tutorials on Thinking Inking.

The owl was altered from the original design on the silhouette as was the little branch that the owl sits on, I wanted the owl to look just slightly different for my card and with the silhouette it gives you the option of deleting some parts of the image that you don't wish to cut.

I used various different coloured cardstock, kraft cardstock for the base card, cosmo cricket paper and stamped image of Raindrop Background from Hero Arts, added the little sentiment at the bottom once all the pieces were attached.

I thought that he turned out pretty cute and with inspiration from Jennifer McGuire to get me started it came together quite easily.

Enjoy your day!

Early Post

Morning everyone. As the title says this is going to be an early post today as I have to be a work this afternoon.

I am currently showing you some of my past work that I have either made for various people or just for myself, thought that I would try and load these onto the blog first then get some new cards and projects made for you all to have a look at. You can see some of the cards on my sidebar, just a small collection so far.

This card I was again inspired by the lovely Jennifer McGuire, I made this for my Mum for her birthday last year, she loved the little owl and I still love making things with owls on them, however, my partner Darryl just rolls is eyes when I show him a card that has an owl on it and he says not another one and shakes his head...LOL. I think that he is trying to hint at me.....LOL, I am sure he is sick of seeing them....LOL. Unfortunately, that will not stop me as I just adore them.

I used some Carolee Creations paper, something bright for the card and the little owl, which I stamped the other side of the paper then cut him out, blended around his tummy with some Distress Ink, added some coloured pieces of cardstock around his eyes and a little nose, placed the googly eyes over the cardstock, pieced him together, cut out a little branch and stuck them all onto the card adding some feet and a few extra pieces of cardstock and some stamping to add some more elements to the overall card.

Well I hope that you all enjoy what is left of your weekend, think of me having to go to work....LOL. I am sure it is going to be another stinker here today heat wise, YUCK!

Thanks for stopping by.

Very Hot Day!

Hi! What a hot day it was here and they say that it is going to get even hotter over the next 3-4 days. Roll on Winter I say, I just loath Summer.

I have been at work all day today so no card making today, but I will show you what I made the other day with some scrap card stock.

It seems as though everyone is trying to use up some left over stock that they have used over Christmas, so I thought that I would try and do the same.

These little flowers I gained inspiration from Dawn McVey, what a truly lovely and inspiring person she is, so thanks Dawn.

My take on these flowers were to cut them out on my Silhouette Machine ( and if anyone in Australia is looking to buy a Silhouette Machine you can buy them at Scrapbook Boutique, a link to this site is on my sidebar and I am sure the Evelyn will be more then happy to help you out) I just love my little machine and with the new people on board such as Hero Arts, House of 3 and Donna Downey over at Silhouette America, I am sure that this will become a very popular tool. They have the most amazing images to download and cut from there site and it is really easy to use. You won't be sorry that you brought one, well worth it.

So back to the flowers I cut 2 different sizes out, scrunched them up in my hand to give it another element to the flower petals then added a button and with some twine and stuck them together. Really quick and easy way of using my scraps up and then I have them on hand to use later down the track. I am quite sure that you have seen something similar, but this is my take on some cute embellishments. (Sorry about the photography, my camera is only very basic and I am still learning...LOL).

Well I will sign off for today, need to go and have a shower after such a hot day.

Have great Saturday night everyone!

Thanks for stopping by!

2nd Post for the day!

Hi! Again, I forgot to show a post about what I brought at my local Scrapbook Shop yesterday. I was getting low on some cardstock so was intend on buying some of that to keep me going and yes of course you cannot go into one of these stores and only buy just one thing. I found that they had a beautiful new line of Bella papers and accessories, so I had to have some, the cardstock of course, more bling, and some more glue dots.
So cannot wait to use some of the new goodies.

I have a very big haul coming next week that I plan to share photos with you all so look out for that one.

Have a great night!

What a day!!!

Afternoon Everyone! As my title says, it has been one heck of a day, or should I say night and day...LOL. I spent most of last night adjusting my blog, this took me into the wee hours of this morning, along with most of today. I got so frustrated at one point because I lost my watermarking tool for my photos and had to search the net for a new version and as I am not a pro at computers it has taken me longer then most people, but YAY! I found one and now am back into the swing of things again. Although, a complete day wasted and not much work done around my house, but it will still be there for me tomorrow.

I hope that you have all had a good Friday and are looking forward to your weekend.

Now to today's card. I made this card a little while ago for my dear friend Ev (Scrapbook Boutique), I just wanted her to know how kind, sweet and what a great friend she was to have in my life, so hence wanted to send a little card of appreciation to her.

I was inspired to make this card when I saw Jennifer McGuire's cards she made for Stamp Camp over at Two Peas in a Bucket, she used a tone on tone affect and well I instantly fell in love with the technique (Jennifer is a truly gifted, lovely and talented lady).

I inked the edges of my cardstock with Distress Ink, then stamped the image of Hero Arts Antique Flower Background with Versamark Ink over the cardstock, embossed it with clear embossing powder, then reinked the image, this time going over the complete cardstock, giving it the tone on tone affect. I also stamped the image of a flower out of the Hero Arts Artistic Border clear designs 2 times onto white cardstock, then blended with Distress Inks to get the desired colour, I cut the flowers at 2 different sizes glued them all together and added some twine behind the flower to add to the dimension, all that was needed was the sentiment that was mounted onto the image along with flower, added some pearl and slightly Distress Inked the card.

A very fun technique which I thank Jennifer McGuire in showing this tutorial. I recommend anyone having a go at this. It is always great to get those fingers all inked up don't you think?

Time for me to sign this post off now, I do hope that you all have a great Friday night.

Thanks for stopping by!

Welcome to my new blog

Hi! Everyone and welcome to my first blog post. I have succumbed to the world of blogging, after much persuasion from my dear friend Evelyn the owner of Scrapbook Boutique, I have now joined the many lists of bloggers. I do hope that you enjoy the journey with me and that you find inspiration in what I create.

Now just a short note about me. I have been stamping for approximately 16 years although at times have taken breaks from the crafting world. Currently I guest design for a company mentioned above called Scrapbook Boutique, you can find the information on my sidebar. I have only recently been designing, but in this short time it has made me grow and has encouraged me to expand on my work. I truly love doing what I am doing, although only in my spare time as I work part time, so in that time I love to be in my favourite room, the craft room.

My craft room is currently undergoing construction and is almost in completion, my partner Darryl has been designing and building all of my craft furniture, he has done a truly fabulous job and I cannot be more proud of what he has done for me.
So enough babble from me, now to my first cards for the new blog:

These set of cards I drew inspiration from Michelle Wooderson and Heather Nichols. All are kraft cardstock, stamped with Darkroom Door Dots background stamp, stamped in white with hearts punched out of various patterned papers, buttons were added to the middle card to add another layer of dimension, sentiments stamped and all mounted onto the cards with corners rounded. Quite cute I thought for Valentines Day, something quick and easy to give. I hope you enjoy.

Have a great evening everyone!
