Guest Designer for Random Act of Cardness!

Hi Everyone! I have exciting news to share with you today, that being another Guest Designer day. I was contacted a few weeks ago by the lovely, sweet and talented Jennifer from Random Act of Cardness. Jennifer, has a wonderful blog, which you can check out HERE and the sweetest little shop attached to it, selling all wonderful products which you can view HERE.

Jennifer asked me to create, share some answers to the questions that she had written and also share some of my work, well me being me, could not resist. To view the blog post go HERE.

Creating the card that I made for her was truly fun, I took white card stock and using the Hero Arts, Magical Background stamp, I inked it up with some distress ink, Antique Linen, stamping over the entire card stock. Taking more antique linen distress in and also vintage photo, I applied over the stamped image to give more depth. Next, sewing around the edges of the card stock and set aside. I then took the Hero Arts, Merry Christmas Trees (which between you and me, I did not think that I would like this set as much as the other Christmas stamps, but I tell a fib, I love them and they happen to be my favourite set this year) I stamped each one of the trees onto more white card stock, inked with Versamark Ink and then embossing the trees with white embossing powder, I applied colour to the trees using distress ink, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and Bundled Sage with touches of Vintage Photo to make them pop. I cut each of the trees out and adhered each of them to the magical background card stock using foam dimensionals, also adding rhinestones and pearls to match the trees. I stamped a sentiment from the same Merry Christmas Trees stamp set and adhered the card stock to a trimmed white card.

A super fun card with lots of techniques involved in the creating process, in fact it was so much fun I created another card very similar to give to someone this year.

Make sure you pop on over to Random Act of Cardness and do leave some comments, I know that Jennifer would really appreciate it.

Well I am off to get some lunch and maybe a little tiny bit more of crafting in before heading to work.

Hugs to you all!

I absolutely love how you colored the trees. They're so elegant and beautiful. Love this card; congrats on being featured on Jennifer's blog! I actually did the "pairing up" challenge with her a while back, so I love to see my bloggy friends teaming up. Thanks for the inspiration!
