Pairing Up Challenge Final Week!

Hi Everyone! Hope your day was great! Darryl and I had a great day out together, shopping and lunching together it was just what I needed, and as a surprise to me he gave me some money to go and spend at one of my favourite shops, so all in all it was a great day.

So today is kinda sad as it is the conclusion on Robin, Vera and myself Pairing Up Challenge, it has been really fun and challenging to create something inspired by and I hope to be able to run this challenge again, maybe next year when all the festivities are all over with.

To conclude our last day, it was my day to choose a card from Vera’s amazing photostream and I have to say it was really hard, as all of her work is just so darn beautiful, but this is the card that I chose:

Kind Words

The use of all the different stamps together was just so beautiful, I found it really hard to come up with something to tell you the truth, all the soft tones that Vera managed to create in her card were so stunning. Even though I was not able to create the subtle hues, but the stamps were so eye catching that I went with that technique.

Using watercolour paper and the Hero Arts, Wildflower Garden I inked it up using Ranger, Distress Ink, Victorian Velvet, spritzed with water and stamped directly onto the paper, then taking Ranger, Distress Ink, Peeled Paint and following the same steps again to create two distinct colours. Next, taking more watercolour paper and the Hero Arts, Graph Background stamp, I inked it with some Ranger, Distress Ink, Tumbled Glass and using the exact same technique again, stamped it onto the paper, once this was dry, I took the Hero Arts, Anytime Messages and stamped a sentiment onto the graph paper. Taking the main image, I used Ranger, Distress Ink, Antique Linen and blended the ink over the entire images to soften, then distressing the edges of the paper I took more of the same ink along with Ranger, Distress Ink, Vintage Photo I applied ink to the distressed edges. I adhered the strip of graph paper to the image and then attached to the card using foam dimensionals, lastly, I added some pearls and punched butterflies to the image to finish the card.

Here is what I used to create the card:

I hope you enjoy viewing the card and don’t forget to check out Vera and Robin’s take on the card.

So I just wanted to send a very big thank you to both Robin and Vera for joining me in this challenge, these girls are amazing and talented ladies, who I have been honoured to participate in this challenge with them.

The next thing that I need to say is a great big thank you to all the wonderful girls that put their names down to participate in this challenge and who have participated, you have all been so amazing and even though I may have not had the time to view all of your creations, blogs or comment, I really have tried to view them all and I apologise if I have missed you beautiful creations. I just wanted to share my thank you with you all from the bottom of my heart for participating. I hope you have all had fun creating and challenging yourselves. Thank You!

Well I am off to view the other girls cards, have a great night!

Hugs
