Teachers Card

Hi Everyone! How has everyone's day been today? I had the day off from work today and spent most of the day in the craft room creating and downloading more digital images, I never thought that I would ever use digital images, but I stand corrected, I feel that there is a place for them in my crafting world.

For today though I have created a card for the August theme competition over at Hero Arts. I felt that the card that I created could be given to a teacher, so goes with the theme of Back to School.



I started with Kraft card stock, cut to size, folded in half to form a card, then taking the Hero Arts, Large Canvas Stripe Background stamp, I inked it up with some Colorbox Ink, Frost White and covered the entire front of the card, I set this aside to dry. Next, taking some white card stock and the Hero Arts, Ledger stamp I inked the stamp up with some Hero Arts, Soft Sand and stamped onto the white card stock, I cut a section out of the ledger image and punched along one side using the EK Success, Binding Edge border punch, once the edge was punched I took some Ranger, Distress Ink, Antique Linen and dusted the edges of the card stock. I then took the Hero Arts, Owl Trio and stamped an owl directly onto the ledger image and also onto some October Afternoon patterned paper, I cut the owl out of the patterned paper and added some Copic colouring onto the owl, then attached to the owl on the ledger image using some foam
dimensionals. I added a sentiment to the bottom of the ledger image from the Hero Arts, Everyday Sayings and also some stamped numbers from the Hero Arts, Bird Branch Alphabet to the ledger image. Next, I added another strip of October Afternoon patterned paper down the punched side of the ledger image and adhered it to the front of the card using more foam dimensionals.

So I hope that this gives you some inspiration to enter the latest competition.
