Inspired By Dawn McVey

Hi Everyone! So it is nearly the end of the week, thank goodness, for me it has been a long week and I am so looking forward to a break at the weekend.

Today, I have been in the craft room creating with some of the new goodies that arrived from Papertrey Ink yesterday. One of the creations which I am going to share with you today was inspired by the wonderful, sweet and talented Dawn McVey, she made a card a little while ago and it was such a beautiful creation that drew me straight in, and I knew then that I wanted to create a card that was inspired by THIS beauty.



So I started with Kraft card stock, cut to size, folded in half and using the Papertrey Ink, Tin Type background stamp I stamped with some Colorbox Ink, Frost White and covered the entire front of the card, I set this aside to dry. I then took the Papertrey Ink, Beautiful Blooms 2 #1 Die Collection and cut some flowers out of some yellow card stock using my Cuttlebug. Once the dies were cut I used the matching Beautiful Blooms 2 stamps and stamped using some Colorbox Ink, Banana Custard, I also stamped some leaves onto some white card stock using some Hero Arts, Soft Leaf ink and cut them out. I adhered each flower with some foam dimensionals and also adhered the leaves using my tape runner, I added a red button to the centre of the flower and set aside. Next, using my Cuttlebug once again, I ran a piece of red card stock through the machine cutting it with a Spellbinder, Label 4 die. I adhered the red die cut to the top of the card with some foam dimensionals and also adhered the flower with more foam dimensionals to the die cut. Lastly, I added a sentiment from the Papertrey Ink, Signature Greetings stamp set.

So there you have it, my card inspired by a very talented and creative Dawn McVey, I know that my card is nothing to her wonderful standard, but I could not resist having a go.
