Ice Cream Sundae!

Hi! So today was a complete day of rest for me, absolutely nothing done around the house, mostly computer work, watched a really funny DVD and made tonight's card for the blog.

So I have tried my hand at a digital design, I was so inspired to make a card using the Ice Cream Sundae out of the Hero Arts Digi Kit, called A Sweet Birthday. I saw Lucy's card that she created for Hero Arts and I fell in love with it so seeing as this months competition is Food, Travel and Bookmaking over at Hero Arts, I thought why not have a go at creating my very first Digi Card. So thank you Lucy for inspiring me to try digital designs.

I started with Kraft card stock, cut to size, folded in half and using the Hero Arts, Flourish Background stamp (sorry guys, I think I have a slight addiction to this stamp, may need help to ween me off this soon, LOL) so I inked the stamp up with some Colorbox Ink, Frost White, I set this aside to dry. Next, I loaded my Ice Cream Sundae Digital Image onto a document page and re-sized the image to fit onto my card, I then took patterned paper from the Basic Grey, Capella 6 x 6 paper pad and printed the image onto 3 sheets of patterned paper along with white card stock to form the base image. I cut the various pieces out and adhered them to the image that was on the white card stock. I added some shading with my Copics and coloured the cherry on top with my Copics also. Once I was happy with the paper piecing and the colouring I adhered it to some matching coloured card stock and mounted it onto the card with some foam dimensionals. I took more of the coloured card stock and created a banner, I stamped a sentiment from the Hero Arts, Everyday Sayings, once the banner was completed I adhered it to the card using some foam dimensionals. Lastly, I added some Glossy Accents to the cherry to give it some gloss and some white dots to the ice cream for some added interest.

Here is a close up of the Digital Image.

So why not give a digital image a try, it is really fun and there are lots to choose from, just a little something to try in the world of stamping.

So I am off to do more computer work and work in the craft room.

Hugs

JOY

Joy- this is so gorgeous. I like the way the card base is made in this one. I tend to do side folds but like the way you to top folds in this size. That background is such a neat one... looks perfect for this card and your paper piecing is superb. great choice of papers.
