Birthday Card and Video Share

Hello Everyone! I hope that you have all enjoyed your weekend as much as I have. We have had some beautiful weather, although a little nippy. I have been able to catch up with all of my washing and also got to do some crafting.

I spent sometime Saturday night searching the net and checking out blogs and some new techniques, one caught my eye that Kim Hughes had done for Ellen Hutson's Classroom, she made several cards but this was my favourite. I loved the out come of the card and decided to try and have a go with what I had and see if it worked and well I have to say that I was pretty happy with the end result. My card was made slightly different to Kim's and still turned out okay.

I cut kraft card stock to size and folded in half and set aside. I then took some white card stock and cut it slightly smaller then the card front. Next I took some Ranger, Distress Ink, Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutters and put some of the inks onto my craft sheet, next I spritzed it with some water and took my Hero Arts, Starburst Lace stamp and as if I was stamping on the craft sheet I stamped over the spritzed ink, grabbing colour, then stamped down onto the white card stock making sure not to press too hard. Once I had stamped the first time I then placed my stamp in the ink again and restamped, I did this until the whole white card stock was covered. It does not matter if the whole stamped images overlap this gives to the overall effect. I then heat set the stamped white card stock and set aside. Next, I took another piece of white card stock and cut a small strip, I stamped a Hero Arts sentiment from the Birthday Sayings stamp set and adhered this to the starburst lace card stock. I took my Ranger, Distress Ink, Brushed Corduroy and inked the edges of the card stock. Lastly, I added some rhinestones under the sentiment and attached to the front of the card with some foam dimensionals.

Here is another view of the card.

I really fun technique to do and yet really effective.

I also have another surprise for you today and I am sharing another video a sneek peak into my craft room again. Darryl, has made this wonderful storage centre for my card stock and my Copics. I cannot wait to have my room painted out to share the whole room with you in one video.

I hope you enjoy today's card and video and if you wish to view all of my videos you can pop over to my Youtube channel and view them, oh and would be great if you could leave me a message over there if you like.

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend and I will be back tomorrow with another card.

Hugs for now.

JOY
